CHRIS.
I've been pounding Flor any chance we get pretty much the last two weeks and she's starting to realize I'm keeping something from her so in order to keep us from fighting I told her last night that I had a dinner with a few friends so she stayed at her place but tonight we have the Downeys Halloween party and I don't know why I feel so anxious about being with Flor out in public.
FLOR.
"I liked it better when this used to be a dress up Halloween party."
"I know champ, but remember last year?" He nods "Avri had nightmares for a few days, so it's safer if we're reunited but in normal clothes."
He groans "but that's so boring, it's just any other party."
"And what's wrong with that? Parties are fun, right?" he nods, and I sigh "be honest, is your attitude really for the costumes or because you'll be leaving the day after tomorrow?" he shrugs, and I hug him tightly "how about I make you a deal?"
"What deal?"
"Once you're settle, I'll go visit you guys over the weekend, so I'll stay for 4 or 5 days, and in a month either your mom brings you home or I'll go and bring you here for a few days, I know you're also gonna miss your friends."
"I like it, but what about after that? We're away for almost 5 months."
"Yes, but I can't schedule that forward, so we'll sort it out when it comes okay?"
"I'm really going to miss you Flory."
"I know sweetie, but remember, you can text or call whenever you like, even in the distance you can always count on me." He hides his head on my neck without letting me go.
"Exton, could you give me a couple of minutes with Flor?" Roberts says, I didn't even realize he was here, Exton does as he's told and leaves the room. "I'm hurting him by taking him away, right?"
"I can't answer that because it wouldn't fair. I'm an outsider, I understand both points."
He sits next to me. "You're not an outsider, you're part of this family. Can I ask you something?"
"Anything."
"Would you come with us?" I turn to look at him wide eyed but he just shrugs.
"I'm flattered but I have to work."
"It would be all expenses paid."
"I'm not close to you guys for money."
"We know."
"And you helped me have my store, it's something I have always wanted, I love to create things, to be surrounded by flowers, all the colors and the smell, and I love that I can brighten someone's day. I promise I'll go visit, and you can come back, and I'll be here."
"I understand how difficult is for the kids to leave you, because it's really difficult for me as well. You complete our family." I tear up a little bit and hug him tightly.
"I don't want to be apart neither, but I promise it's gonna be easier than we think, I'll see how much I can go visit."
He hugs me more tightly before whispering "Let us know, our plane will be ready whenever you want to."
"Guys, no sad stuff, it's party night." Susan tells from the door.
Robert chuckles "funny you say so, you cried last night for the same thing."
"Oh Susan..."
"No, I'm not having this, guests are arriving, and I don't want them to see me all mushy red." I nod before walking to her.
