FLOR.
Laying next to him is so comforting for me, it's like nothing can hurt me when I'm with him I feel bulletproof, I feel safe.
He keeps caressing my arm while my head is resting on his chest and I'm running my hands through it "you'll never believe what Sussy and Luke decided."
He chuckles "the tone you just used makes me believe they decided to move in with us." I laugh shaking my head "it's something that makes you happy." I nod "but they said they weren't having a baby." I keep quiet looking at him raising an eyebrow "are they adopting?"
"Not exactly..."
"What do you mean?"
"Well... They decided to foster for a few kids."
"A few? How many exactly?"
I take a deep breath "2 boys and a girl... Luke had a case, and their mother was a victim, unfortunately she died, and the kids were going to be place in the system, but since they're different ages they were gonna be separate, Luke had grown close with the boys with everything that happened since he had to take their statements and he started to visit them at the hospital where the mom was fighting for her life, one of those days he brought Sussy with him and she adore the boys but she felt in love with little Lory, that's the girl's name, she's a little over 6, Jake is 11 and Ben is 14."
"What about their father?"
"He died when Lory was 2, he was in the army."
"Poor kids, but at least now they know there's someone to look after them."
"It's gonna take a long time to get there, but right now they're waiting for a permanent license."
"And if things go fine, will they adopt them?"
I sigh "I don't know, they don't even know, Ben has 4 years to be able to take custody of his siblings, so they want to wait for all of them to be comfortable enough to talk about it and decide if they want to be adopted or just keep it as fosters parents."
"Wow, that's gotta be tough on them, but it's a good thing they're doing. They're amazing people and I know they'll be even better parents." I nod "have you met the kids?"
"Yes, when Luke and Sussy were needed to sing the papers. Me and Dodger when babysitting, they love Dodger."
He laughs throwing his head back "Everyone loves Dodger."
I slap his chest "don't be mean, they'll be your niece and nephews."
"No... That's not what I meant, I haven't met them, but they must be great kids to have all of you around their fingers."
"You'll love them, especially Jake, he has something in him that reminds me of you."
"Really?" I nod "Why's that?"
"I don't know, you'll have to see it to get what I mean." He chuckles, pulling me closer.
"Funny how universe, God, destiny or whatever you want to call it works, isn't it?"
"What you mean?"
He keeps staring ahead while I look to his face "Sussy and Luke didn't want kids after everything she had to go through with her diagnosis, and these kids had a horrible thing happened to them but that brought them something amazing as well, it won't compensate the loss of their mother, but they won't have to do everything alone. Sussy and Luke love and desire kids, I could tell with the way they looked and smiled with Rob's kid and my nephews, one way or another they all found a way to come together." I can help but let a few tears drop before nesting into his chest "and..."
"And what?"
"And you wanted to wait until your sister had kids to start planning for a family." I lift my head a little to be able to look at him again while he moves his eyes to me "I'm not saying right now, whenever you're ready, I'll be ready too."
I smile "I love you for that, but..." I take a deep breath "I need to deal first with the issue of going out alone... I know you'll want to be every step of the way in our kid's life but still, you'll have to work elsewhere, and we've talked about us wanting our kids to have a normal life, well as much as possible, so we'll have to stay in LA while you work."
"I can retire... but still I agree that you need to work through that issue, not only for us to be able to have kids, but because I want you to be able to feel safe."
"You can't retire just because we're having kids."
He groans "why not?"
I laugh "Chris, you have so much energy, you'll go mad if you have to stay home all the time."
"But we don't have to be home all the time, we'll travel a lot, plus their school and functions, and whatever."
"Still, maybe you can work less, but don't start saying you'll retire, because it's not time."
He smirks "but can we start practicing for us to get pregnant?"
I laugh "when have we not?" He kisses me softly "you know... we're not being safe; I stop taking my pills remember?"
"Do you want us to be safe?"
"Hell no."
He smirks again before placing himself on top of me "fuck, the thought of getting you pregnant is so fucking hot." I moan opening my legs for him once again "baby... would you get mad if you get pregnant?"
"Not at all, but you'll have to come home sooner if that's the case."
"Oh yeah? And why's that?"
"I've heard that pregnancy hormones make woman hornier."
He groans dropping his head to my chest "you'll be the fucking dead of me."
I smile moving my hands softly through his back, he doesn't know, but I've been dreaming of a boy with the same smile as his father, my hair and nose, but his eyes... Those same eyes my husband has.
