3RD POV

Back on Earth, the tragic news of Freya Evermore's untimely demise rippled through the hearts and minds of the people, igniting wildfires of shock and profound sorrow. This wave of emotion was particularly affected among the media and those connected to Freya.

Among these individuals was Freya's mother named Rita Evermore. She found herself engulfed in an ocean of grief, her soul bearing the brunt of this devastating loss more than anyone else.

Weeks had passed since the fierce fight with Freya. Despite her aversion to conflict, Rita's deepest desire was to mend their relationship back together. Before she tried simple, heartfelt gestures, each one imbued with the hope of reconciliation. Yet, unfortunately these very attempts seemed to only widen the gap, casting them further apart into a silent abyss.

To Rita, it became painfully clear that Freya's perception of her had drastically altered; she was no longer seen as a mother but rather that of a distant colleague. Whenever they conversed, Freya's voice was stripped of any tenderness; it was sharp, laden with a brief formal exchange. This shift in demeanor, had an absence of affection, weighed heavily on Rita's heart, a constant reminder of the growing divide between them.

Rita knew she and Freya were not as close as before. From all the things that had happened to "them". She thought that eventually everything will come back to how it used to be. From the close bond she had with her daughter to the happy memories they once created. But what Rita didn't know was that this was the final time she would ever get to see her daughter again.

The last fight, which ended with Rita slapping Freya in the face, turned silent and then into tears. Both were filled with regret and sadness.

"Why now? you're too late," were the last words Rita heard from her daughter. Those bitter words left a lingering feeling of hopelessness and regret growing inside Rita's heart.

After discovering the death of her precious daughter. Rita felt as though her life had turned upside down. Everything she valued was gone. Despite being left with vast wealth and power, Rita found no desire for any of it.

Rita fell into despair, finding everything meaningless. First, she had lost her husband, and now her daughter. The family she cherished was gone, leaving her completely alone.

Over a year has passed since the death of her daughter. Rita inherited the business from her late daughter, but ultimately, she couldn't bear the work. She felt she didn't deserve any of her daughter's work or the money that came with it.

Rita donated all of Fryea's accumulated wealth to charity, while the various businesses were either given or sold off to others to continue her daughter's work. Though Rita had a distant relationship with her daughter. She knew that Freya would have done this.

Rita, now alone, sat on the hospital bed with a saddened expression on her face. Her head drooped down, pondering for a long time all the reminiscent memories. Her long curly brown hair blew in the breezy wind. An hour ago, Rita had a long talk with the nurse about all the things in her life. It was the only company she had in a while.

Rita grumbled pondering for a long time, thinking. No matter how much she thought about trying to recall some memories of her daughter, she struggled. Immediately realizing that there were none. No fond memories she had ever spent time with Freya.

All that Rita remembered were the "people" whom she thought she could trust but who instead had used her. She discovered that her ex-husband, Darren, and his two daughters were all liars.

"Liars, They were all liars" Rita whispered.

Just thinking about those three made her eyebrows furrow as she bit her bottom lip, soon causing a flow of blood to gush out.

"I shouldn't have trusted them."

Heavy tears flowed down as Rita cried, her heart thumping, filled with regret, while her body shivered on the soft hospital bed. Even if a year had passed after the emotional turmoil of her daughter's death. No treatment, be it medicine or therapy, could ever heal what she had lost.

Hearing about the lawsuit she had won as revenge against those "people" did little to ease her pain. But it wasn't enough. Her ex-husband, Darren, ended up being locked up in jail, while his daughters were left to work, paying off the accumulated debt they owed.

Rita showed no mercy. Though the three were to blame for the tragedy of Freya. Rita herself admitted she too was a part of her daughter's misery.

As Rita reminisced about the past, she vividly remembered her late husband's advice: "Fix it sooner or later". That advice means it will inevitably fall apart if left alone. This memory was particularly poignant as she recalled the time when one of her favorite cars broke, and her husband urged her to have it fixed at a repair shop—a suggestion she ultimately forgot once she bought a new car. The old car stored away was left forgotten.

This too was a clear warning sign of Rita's mistake. Throughout her life, Rita loved and cherished Freya deeply. Her sole desire was to support her daughter. However, the tension and complications arose. Rita pushed Freya at an early age, aiming for stardom in the acting world. Initially, Rita saw her daughter's foray into stardom as a temporary phase.

Yet, Rita never anticipated the impact her little daughter would make. Freya's debut in movies and t.v shows were a blockbuster hit.

As the years went by and Freya's success soared, Rita found herself engulfed in the business aspects of her daughter's career. In the process, she lost sight of her original intentions.

Caught between being a proud mother and a manager, Rita overlooked the most crucial aspect—her daughter's feelings. She never once realized how Freya truly felt.

All of that was what Rita regretted the most. She had never once spent time with her own daughter. Whenever people spoke about Freya, Rita felt proud. She had always been proud of Freya's success.

Yet the cheerful little girl Rita once knew had disappeared, replaced by a grown woman. Freya saw Rita as a stranger rather than a mom.

All Rita could do now is live the rest of her life without her daughter. The regrets deep inside her was what she had to deal with.
