Chapter 47: Someone REALLY familiar

Freya POV

It was a bright, sunny day, and the whole fiasco with Alan and Alex had finally settled. The medicine Alan provided helped Shino recover from the poison in his body. A week had passed since the day we visited the doctor at the mountains.

Alex was still in contact with Alan up in the mountains, but their feud after we left wasn't exactly pleasant. Both orcs constantly nagged at each other. While it would be great to have Alan move to the tribe, I doubt he'd accept so easily. When I mentioned it to him earlier, he seemed reluctant and not keen on the idea.

BEFORE- When Alex and I traveled to the mountains, Alex warned me that the orc living there was crazy. However, I didn't think Alan was crazy at all. To me, Alan seemed perfectly normal, and it was Alex who appeared to be talking nonsense. Alan was easy to get along with and treated me like family, just like a sister.

I can't blame Alan living at the top of the mountain offers pure isolation but also a lot of peace and quiet. Thinking of the possibility that Alan rejected Alex's offer might be his way of avoiding his crazy brother. I mean out of the two of them I think Alex was the chaotic one. After all, I admit Alex does crazy things from time to time. But that thought made me giggle.

Right now, I was in the fields with Alex, while Shino was back at home, still resting. I stood in the field and felt the overgrown grass brushing against my skin. There were some flowers growing but not much after spring passed.

"Freya," a voice behind me said.

"Hmm?" I thought, turning to see Alex behind me.

His large hands encircled my waist, gently resting on my belly. He hugged me from behind while giving me a kiss on the side of my neck. I moaned, making Alex growl as his kiss on my neck intensified. I felt my wolf hubby's hands gently stroking my belly while he continued pecking kisses on my neck. Soon I felt one of his hands trace up as it now landed on my breast.

"So sweet~" he whispered.

For sure, Alex was really testing me. It was like he and Shino knew the ways in getting me to say yes to what they wanted. I can't lie but it was working.

Following the surprising discovery of my pregnancy, Alex and Shino became noticeably more anxious and watchful over me, meticulously monitoring my every action to guarantee the safety of both the cubs and myself. Their constant vigilance and nagging could be quite bothersome, yet I knew all of this was out of love.

By love, I mean lots of love from affection to pure lust in bed. Beastmen were no joke, their stamina in bed was something... I was a month and a half into my pregnancy yet I see a slight difference in my body.

Being a month into my pregnancy, I was worried about the possibility of losing my cubs. I needed to eat more to maintain a healthy lifestyle, ensuring my cubs could grow big inside.

I pouted, frustrated with myself over the lack of growth in my belly, I heard a giggle above me. I turned to see Alex laughing at the expression on my face.

"What's so funny?" I asked, only to see Alex smile after. I saw his soft golden eyes sparkling when seeing his joyful curved lips.

"Nothing much, my sweet mate," He replied, humming as he pretended.

"I doubt it," I said, pouting more.

"Don't be mad, I'm glad that our cubs are growing healthy. I know you're scared of losing them like before. But I promise to make sure that you'll get to see them at the end" Alex says.

I sighed, thinking at first it was one of his tricks but hearing his sweet words. I ended up smiling back at him.

"Alright, you're forgiven" I said, giving him a kiss on the lips as an apology.

(TIME PASSED)

At noon, Alex and I walked around the field, enjoying the soothing breeze. Alex held my hands as we walked around the field. Soon I spotted something delicious growing. It made my eyes sparkle, seeing that it had been so long since I had eaten it.

The delicious and sweet mango dangling in the tree vines.

"MANGOS!" I yelled, pointing to the mango tree.

Alex turned his attention to where I was pointed and smiled.

"Yellowstone?" He questioned but smiled afterwards seeing my begging eyes.

"Alright, we'll go gather some for you to eat"

"Really?! You're the best" I said in excitement.

"Yea, there is not much that is ripe but I'll go find as much as I can" Alex nodded and we walked towards the mango tree. "Anything for my mate" he said.

As soon as we reached the tree, Alex let go of my hand. He grabbed a ripe mango nearby and gave it to me to eat. Using his claws, he sliced through the mango's skin, revealing the juicy orange flesh inside.

I ate the mango in bliss tasting the natural sweetness of the mango. It was so fresh and juicy that I could eat a dozen everyday.

"Honey, do you want some?" I asked him but Alex shook his head, declining.

"No need, they are too sweet for me"

"Alright, more for me then" I said, continuing on eating my juicy mango.

For a couple of minutes, I watched as Alex climbed the tree. I was surprised that a wolf beastman like him knew how to climb, as most wolves in the tribe are bad at climbing. Yet, Alex proved me wrong again. He climbed up the tall mango tree, searching for ripe mangoes. There were a lot of mangoes growing, but most were green and not ripe enough to eat.

I continued to eat my mango while watching my hubby climb the tall tree. From time to time, I saw mangoes dropping down from the tree when Alex found ripe ones. With the tribe quiet and peaceful, this was the best day so far. Alex taking a one-day break from his patriarch duties to spend time with me was enjoyable. It would have been better if Shino had joined us, but his recovery was important. There are many other days to spend time with Shino and Alex at the same time.

(TIME PASSED)

For some time, I had finished my mango and I continued watching my hubby climbing the tree. A mango he found dropped from the tree and I managed to catch some of it. But as I observed him climbing I heard a faint sound coming from afar.

"Freya," the tiny voice said.

I turned around to the source of the voice and squinted my eyes focusing on the moving figure. The figure and voice became clear as it shouted my name.

"FREYA!" The orc yelled in a gleeful tone with excitement in his eyes.

The mango in my hand dropped to the ground as I took a tiny step back. My eyes widen seeing someone REALLY FAMILIAR in front of my eyes. I thought that I would never see him again after the whole fiasco between him and Shino.

But yet he was here...

It was Lucas!

"Oh no... Not again" I thought

I instantly thought of the deal I had made with him. Thinking now that he wasn't here to kidnap me but now came as my suitor.

But I wondered...

HOW THE HELL DID HE MANAGED TO ENTER THE TRIBE?!
