Chapter 52: Heinry's return

3rd POV

After Freya was left alone in the house all embarrassed from the kiss she had with Lucas. The day after that she was in a total daze. Her heart was beating, not knowing what to do whenever she met eyes with Lucas. 

Freya herself was embarrassed. Most of the time she was calm and composed but now she doesn't know what to do. Not only did she have Lucas sticking to her like glue but two other mates also sticking to her like glue. The three of them are all doting to her. Sometimes Freya saw the three to be a bit crazy especially whenever they went out in public.

Beastmen were territorial orcs. A male beastmen with a mate would mark their land using their own scent to ward off others. But who knew that the beastmen with her would be this protective. 

Right now, Freya, now in her third-trimester. Despite her pregnancy that caused her back to ache it didn't stop her from ruining her day.

Freya browsed through the vibrant marketplace, her eyes dancing over the many goods spread out across many stalls. Alongside Shino, Alex, and Lucas, she navigated the bustling tribe square, a hub where traders and vendors hawked an eclectic mix of wares—from savory foods to intricate clothing. The air was alive with the murmurs and movements of a throng of orcs, all wandering amidst shops set against the backdrop of towering mountains that stretched across the flat lands.

Her involvement in aiding Alex with transformative initiatives for the tribe had sparked significant changes, leaving the marketplace and its surroundings teeming with a renewed sense of vibrancy and community spirit.

Previously, the first time she visited the tribe square, Freya was met with the disheartening sight of abandoned cubs pleading for scraps of food. A number of these young ones, driven by desperation, resorted to stealing from vendors. While a fortunate few managed to secure a meal, the majority weren't so lucky. Those caught in the act often faced harsh punishment, receiving beatings as a consequence.

But now Freya was glad things had changed in the Heihei tribe. Instead of poor cubs wandering the market for scraps of food she took care of the issue right away. Most cubs left and abandoned were provided shelter and food. She and Alex created foster homes and schooling for the all cubs.

In the present, Freya walked along the bustling crowd filled with a lively atmosphere. With the new laws implemented to the tribe not to just males but females. Freya saw females actually chattering to their males while others had happy expressions on their faces.

Freya watched for a while before looking back at the fabric she held in her hands. The white fabric was a blanket, it was soft and filled with sheep's wool.

"eight crystals" the vendors said.

Freya looked at the vendor and shook her head, declining. She simply placed the blanket back thinking it was too expensive. The moment she set the blanket down a large hand took the blanket. Freya turned and for a moment she was surprised to see Shino but had forgotten that Shino, Alex and Lucas were standing right behind her.

"We will take it," Shino said.

"What no, you don't have to" Freya said back.

She waved her hands not wanting the blanket. But there the soft blanket was already bought.

"You didn't have to buy it. It was ten gold, it was obviously a scam you know" She scolded with a frown on her face.

Shino besides her chuckled. The panther beastmen knew from the start but didn't care. The moment he saw his mate seek interest in the blanket he knew he had to buy it.
