EPILOGUE

"Mom, I'm alive, okay? No need to worry. Goodbye."

I sighed as I leaned back against the pillow, finally feeling the ache in my leg since arriving at the infirmary. Hindi malala ang natamo ko, just a few scrapes on my leg.

I also just woke up. I didn't even realize how long I had been asleep. Earlier this afternoon, the moment we arrived at the infirmary to get checked, I fell asleep right away. Boredom suddenly nudged me to stand up and take a walk for a while.

As I passed the infirmary bed where the girl I had saved, I noticed her sleeping with her mouth slightly open. She must have been hurt from the accident. Halata pa sa pagtulong niyang malikot siya. She was even snoring, with a drool starting to trickle down her cheek.

I simply shook my head, surprised to find myself already smiling like an idiot as I watched her. Without realizing it, I slapped my own cheek-what was I thinking? I shouldn't be staring at someone while they slept. Mapagkamalan pa akong weirdo.

By afternoon, I finally decided to leave the clinic, just as everyone was getting ready to head home. Dos and Tristan approached me as soon as I head out, seems like they were just about to visit me. With their playful expressions, they looked like they had just landed from another planet. Mukha tuloy silang alien.

"Okay lang 'yan, par. Ang mahalaga, nakahuli ka." Tristan tapped my shoulder.

"Mukhang interesado ka, ah. Ang hina mo, ako na nga ang magtatanong ng pangala—"

I quickly blocked Dos with my arm as he tried to sneak into the clinic like I was putting him in a chokehold, especially since he and Tristan were already plotting their mischief. These guys really know how to get on my nerves.

"Tulog 'yong tao, huwag kayong magulo." I dragged them both as we all went outside the school. "I gotta eat. I didn't eat for lunch."

"Dadalhan ka sana namin kaninang alas dos kaso tulog ka pa rin. Pareho kayo ni ateng nahuli mo," dagdag ni Tristan.

"Yeah, but since patay gutom 'to, he's the one who ate it," Dos answered.

"Over naman sa patay gutom. May natira pa naman dito. Kaso walang extra kutsara, gamitin mo na lang 'yong akin!" Tristan laughed.

I grimaced. "No way."

I'm extremely conscious about saliva. I don't like sharing spoon with others or anything I've already used.

In the end, we stopped by the small café across the school to buy some bread, and I finally ate. I could feel my stomach growling. I'm actually a big eater, but it seems like I never get full.

"P're, siya 'yon, oh!" Kinalabit ako ni Tristan nang makabili kami. Nasa gilid lang kami ng kalsada.

While chewing, my eyes wandered toward the school gate. Since it was already dismissal time, I caught sight of the girl I saved from the accident. She was walking with two boys beside her.

I furrowed my brows in confusion. Those two boys seemed very close to her, so how come I saw another student earlier coming from her spot? It was obviously not either of them.

"Uy, kilala niya pala 'yong dalawang 'yon? Nakakalaban namin sila sa Wild Rift, e. Nagkakayayaan pa ibang kakilala nila sa ibang section!" pangunguna ni Tristan.

Nanatiling nasa gate ang tingin ko, pinanonood pa rin 'yong tatlo. But my gaze stayed fixed on her. She looked so annoyed as those two friends continued teasing her. I couldn't help but smile. We were exactly the same whenever my two friends would gang up on me and mess around.
