What we done three days ago hasn't left my mind since we done it. I never thought in a million years that she would trust me enough to have sex with me but she did and it has left me feeling euphoric. Of course I told myself she would want to, but never did I really believe it. I thought I was going to have to die a virgin, but fortunately, I wont. The whole thing was perfect. She wasn't scared or tense, being that close to her body let me feel how comfortable she was with me. I blame that for the smile that hasn't left my face these past three days. Her hands explored every single detail on my body and she didn't stop after we finished, she kept going, tracing my scars and curves until she fell asleep in my arms.
"What are we doing today?" Emily asks but her gaze stays on the view ahead. It is gorgeous; almost as gorgeous as her. The view consists of mountains and fields; and the odd animal running by. We have saw birds, rabbits, deer and foxes in the distance. Each animal made Emily's eyes glisten in awe. I am not much of an animal person, so I looked at her satisfied face instead.
"Well, food first as always. But after that, I am not sure. Maybe we could get you another book since you've read that one four times now." I suggest.
"I love that idea." Emily laughs softly, now looking at me. We sit a few feet outside the tent, our legs dangling over the edge of a cliff, every now and again our feet grazing each others.
"Let's go then."
.
The café we decided to go to is loud, which made me nervous since no one knows how to mind their own business. I only hope no one notices us. It is very unlikely they will considering how much Emily and I have changed compared to the small picture they have all seen of us.
My picture was a picture my sister had took of me on her phone designed for kids which she received for Christmas. She took a picture of me seconds before disaster struck and Christmas was ruined; not for me since my christmas wasn't good enough to be ruined, but for everyone else.I got pissed off that I didn't receive a gift once again,so I turned the oven cooker up on the highest setting. I though it would just burn the food but it set the kitchen on fire which I found hilarious. The picture is the only picture of me over the age of thirteen. I am not smiling in it and my hair is messy. I stare emotionless at the camera. I didn't even have time to process what she was doing before the fire alarm went off. I look so... empty.
The boy In that picture would be so proud of me now. Having Emily all to myself, getting out of that stupid town, Standing up to him.
Emilia's picture is perfect, of course. Her hair is over the face slightly and she holds a book in her hands. I imagine she was reading and someone called her name, then snapped the shot as soon as she looked up. Her innocent and confused look covers her features which makes the picture just perfect. I wish I had a copy myself.
"Hi, what can I get you guys?" The waitress asks politely to us once she arrives our two seat table.
"One Kouign-amann and a macchiato, please." Emily asks sweetly, looking up at the woman serving us.
"Same for me." I add before the waitress leaves. "I have no idea what a kouign amann is but I am trusting your judgment." I joke to Emily.
"I am not sure what it is exactly... but it is a pastry. And super delicious, too."
"How do you know about it?"
"The rink I go to has the best baker in the world. His name is Carlos and he is a French baker so he bakes the best French desserts. That was always my favourite. It is really unhealthy though, so not many people bought it since mainly athletes go to the rink." Emily explains. "My mom didn't like me having them but Carlos would keep one under the counter for me after practise."
"You know, I think I bought a donut from him. He was insulted when I called it a donut and insisted it was a Baba Ae rum or something."
Emily giggles at my mispronunciation. "Baba Au Rhum." She corrects.
"Right." I nod slightly.
"Yeah, that sounds like Carlos. I still can not believe you were always right next to me for weeks and I didn't realise once." She frowns slightly.
"Yeah you always were concentrating on skating or homework."
"You could have just said hi, you know."
"No, I couldn't have. You wouldn't have liked me if I done it that way."
"Here are your kouign - amann's and your macchiatos. Enjoy guys." The waitress, whose name tag reads 'Ola' places the food and drinks on the table, then moves on to serving the woman who just entered the café.
"Thank you."
For a few minutes, Emily doesn't say anything until I try my dessert.
"How is it?" She questions as I chew the sweet food.
"It's very.... buttery." I speak between chews.
"Yeah but a good buttery." She raises her eyebrows.
"If ten year old me tried this... I would have refused to eat anything else." I chuckle.
"Yeah it is really sweet. Perfect for a sugar boost when training."
"Yeah I think I needed this when I followed you on a run once.... you can last along time."
"I like running."
I bite my lip from the automatic thought I get when she mentions running. Me chasing her to-
"Do you?"
"Hm?" I frown. "Do I what?"
"Like running."
"Oh, no not really. I mean, I used to love it but not anymore."
The memories of my running dream come flooding back.
"Why not?" She sips her coffee.
"No reason I just... grew out of it. So, what book are you going to get?" I try desperately to change the topic.
There's some things best left unsaid.
