"Okay, don't panic. I will handle this." Luca instructs me. After we got pulled over at the side of the road, the cop slowly walked over to our car, to which Luca responded by rolling down the window and flashing an innocent smile.

"Hello officer. Was I speeding?" Luca asks.

"No, but the plate for this car has been reported stolen, do you have your license?" The officer speaks in a condescending tone toward Luca.

"Yes Officer I do and this is my car. So whatever devise you use to run license plates is incorrect."

"Are you saying that I don't know how to do my job?" The officer raises his bushy eyebrow as his eyes flicker between us.

"No, I don't think that is what I said at all, Officer but it would be much appreciated if you could go run the plate again and double check that this is the vehicle in question, since I am certain I own this."

My eyes fix on Luca rather than the cop, who is quite ugly. His eyes are so small and his nose is so big it makes him look like a cartoon character. Luca stays calm during the interaction.

The officer sighs in annoyance and defeat, then he struts back toward the police car.

Luca swiftly turns to me, his eyes capturing my stare.

"There is a bag of money under your seat." Luca explains to me and I frown. Since when was there a bag of money right buy my feet? "Grab it and run into the woods over there ten seconds after I get out of the car." He nods to the forest of trees by us.

"What? Why me?" I shake my head in confusion, I didn't understand what was going on and I didn't know if I wanted to.

"Emilia, there are times I need you to listen to me and not question it, not even think about it, just do it. This Is one of those fucking times. Go."

He steps out of the car and slowly walks towards the officer. My breath shakes as I breathe in and out.

1...2...3...4...5...5...6...7...8...9...10

I count to ten, taking a breath in on one number and out the next. Finally, I reach under the seat and step out of the car, making as little noise as possible. It works since the officer doesn't look my way. But I am not willing to stand around until he does. I rush over to the heap of trees, disappearing into the woods.

The last time I was in a place like this, it didn't go as planned. Now, I am glad it didn't because If it had, I would be back home, stuck in my old life. I was crazy back then. I thought I wanted to get away from Luca. Last time, I was looking behind me as I ran, searching the woods for Luca's figure close by, scared he was near. Now, I look back and feel scared when I don't see him. I want to see him.

What if something bad happened? I should go back. But he gave me strict instructions and going back for him wasn't one of them but.... what if he is being arrested right now and he thinks I don't care about that happening?

Before my thoughts swallow me whole, Luca appears. His body running towards me. I can't help but smile when I see him, I don't even fight it.

"I thought you were gone." I speak when he is close to me.

"Yeah, it will take a lot more than that to get rid of me, Emily."

"What happened?" We walk in sync with one another. I look at him as I speak but he looks straight ahead.

"Don't worry about it."

"Will we go back for the car?" I question him.

"No."

"Well, what about the tent? Where will we sleep?"

"We will find somewhere. Don't worry about it, babe."

"Fine." I nod and then smile in a relaxed way. "I don't mind we lost all our things. As long as I have you." I smile up at him in a warm way and something flashes in his eyes. I can't pin what it is exactly.

"Come on" he mumbles and slips his hand into mine, dragging me along with him.

What is going to happen to us? Where will we sleep? How much money is left? My mind races with thoughts but I don't want to tell Luca this. I can tell he is already worried, he doesn't need to know I am too. The cops may know exactly where we are now, and it's likely we will get caught soon. Or well- he will. Technically, I've done nothing wrong and if you ask many people, I'm a victim. But I don't feel like a victim.

"Where are we?" I ask looking around at our foggy surroundings.

"I'm not sure." He mumbles and keeps walking.

...

After what felt like the longest hour of my life, we finally reach the end of the woods and enter a fog filled field. Everything around us is blurred  with a smokey film, making it impossible to see past half way of the field. We both stride further into the field and it is only now I have noticed how dark the sky is become. I can't help but panic.

"It looks like it's going to storm." I state but to my surprise, I don't get a reply. "What should we do? We can't stay out here in the rain!"

"I don't fucking know!" Luca shouts at me, standing so close I can feel his breath on me despite the cold wind blowing. "But I don't need your questions." He whispers the next part, only making it scarier.

I nod in reply, not wanting to make him any more mad. What did I do? Why is he mad at me? I didn't tell the cops to pull us over or tell the sky to cast a storm. I didn't do anything.
