Bambam handed a large box of sweets to Jennie. "Miss Kim, Doctor Shi used up the entire money that you gave him to buy sweets. He couldn't finish them all, so he shared it with everyone. He asked me to send some to you as well."
Jennie was astonished. "He spent it all on sweets?"
"Boss instructed him to buy sweets. He would be forfeiting his life if he did not do so. Of course he followed his orders."
"..." Jennie was speechless.
She finally understood the point. Lisa's words were akin to that of an imperial decree.
"I won't disturb the two of you any longer." Bambam turned to leave.
After taking a step, he glanced back. "Madam, why didn't you mock me?"
Considering that his current appearance was horrifying, she actually did not use the opportunity to take her revenge?
Jennie glanced at Bambam's swollen figure and the thin layer of green medication on his skin. He appeared even more like a ghost than she did. "What's there to laugh at? Everyone pursues beauty. I'm not like someone else who is lacking in morals. I won't casually step on someone's sore spot without a good reason."
Bambam was covered in sweat after hearing her words.
In the past, he often mocked her for being ugly and fat. At the time, he had been especially unkind.
Clearly, the person she was describing was him.
Bambam hung his swollen head guiltily and walked away.
Lisa stood in the room and waved towards Jennie. "Come here!"
She jumped into his arms like a ghost and said gloomily, "Lisa, you actually aren't frightened by my horrifying appearance..."
He wrapped his arms around her slender figure and found it to be especially small. He held the back of her small head with his palm. "Silly, no matter if you're dead or alive, you'll always be my woman. What's there for me to be afraid of my own woman?"
She lifted her head and watched him. "What if I really die one day?"
If she was foolish enough to lose her sight and become paralysed once more.
She would prefer to end her own life.
A hint of unhappiness appeared on his face. He sternly commanded her. "You're not allowed to spout nonsense!"
"Life is unpredictable. I'm just talking about a 'what-if' scenario!"
"Then I'll die with you." He was expressionless and his features were grave and stern. "Don't worry, before I die, I definitely won't allow you to die!"
"Lisa!" She was moved into holding his waist tightly.
She felt the urge to cry.
In her previous life, he had fulfilled this promise.
In this life, she would alter their fates. She would not allow herself to hold him back any longer.
She would live on well, and she absolutely would not let him die either.
His jawline was rigid as he spoke in heartache. "Alright. You're a grown woman. Don't cry, ok?"
"Who is crying?" She refused to admit it. "Didn't you go to the study room? Why did you come back?"
He showed her the fountain pen that he was holding. "I came to take a pen."
A hint of confusion appeared in her bright eyes. "But, aren't there several more in your study?"
He would never admit that he specially came here to take a glance at her. He was expressionless as he casually found an excuse. "This is better."
"Is that so?" She took the fountain pen from him. "Although this fountain pen is expensive, it isn't any different from the ones in your study."
She blinked at him flirtatiously. "Handsome, could it be that you came here specially just to see me?"
"Cough!" He cleared his throat and maintained a cold expression. "You're thinking too much."
He quickly walked out of the bedroom and left an unbelievably charming backview for her to watch.
"Eh..." She lifted the fountain pen in her hand. Didn't he say that this pen was good, and that he came specifically for it?
