"That makes sense." Jennie nodded. "However, my father is admitted under Sheng Shi Group's Jia Ya Hospital. Lisa isn't charging us any money. Since the Kim Group is facing financial difficulties, I'll come up with the money for the DNA test."
"You child, how can you keep relying on Lisa?" Lilan spoke as though she had good intentions. "Men cannot be relied upon. Jenjen ah, these matters aren't urgent. Let me first go in and take a look at your father."
Saying so, she reached out to push the hospital room door open.
But one of the bodyguards held her back. "My apologies, Madam Kim. Without Miss Kim's permission, no one is allowed to enter."
Lilan had already attempted every possible trick she could on the bodyguards last night. They were all futile. She knew very well that the solution lay in Jennie's hands.
She instantly softened her attitude. "Jenjen, considering that I've been waiting in this hallway for the entire night, let me visit your father. We've been husband and wife for over twenty years. No one has the right to separate us."
"You should leave now." Jennie was unmoved. "Don't make me command the bodyguards to throw you out."
"Don't try to intimidate me with power!" Lilan had stayed up the entire night and her temper was affected. "Lawfully and morally, Lee Dong is my husband. You don't have the right to keep us apart!"
"Lawfully... you'll have to actually be my mother for that to count." Jennie harrumphed coldly. "As for morally..."
She brought out her phone and tapped on a few photos before holding it in front of Lilan.
Lilan saw that they were all photos of her and Shuhai sleeping together in the Kim family's bedroom. Her complexion instantly turned pale.
She trembled. "You... how did you get these photos!"
Jennie had already suspected that the two of them were problematic in her last life.
Naturally, she would look for evidence in this life.
Thus, she bribed one of the Kim family's helpers into taking these photos for her.
"It's none of your business how I obtained these photos." Jennie smiled mockingly. "Madam Kim, you say, if I release these photos to the public and let everyone know that you brought my so-called Second Uncle home after my father went into a coma, would you still have any morals to speak of?"
"My daughter." Lilan's expression was flustered.
She tugged her to the side and whispered. "You can't let these photos spread. Otherwise, you will also lose your position as Madam Manoban. If Lisa has such an unrestrained mother-in-law, it will only ruin the Manoban family's reputation."
"If you knew that this would ruin their reputation, why did you sleep with Shuhai?" Jennie recalled the way her father had treasured her mother and instantly felt enraged.
"I..." Lilan began crying softly. "Your father went into a coma. I'm also a human. I have needs. Your second uncle also took very good care of me. It was a moment of foolishness that led to this..."
"It isn't that simple, is it?" Jennie narrowed her eyes and took in her pitiful state. "Why do I feel that your strong relationship with him must have begun many years ago?"
"How is that possible?" Lilan rushed to deny this. "I never once let your father down before his accident. Aiyo, I feel so dizzy!"
She acted as though she suddenly lacked energy and was about to faint.
Jennie supported her and pretended to accidentally tug on her hair.
After Lilan stabilised herself, she quickly found an excuse and escaped from there.
Jennie did not pursue her. Instead, she lowered her head to look at the two strands of hair in her hand.
At this moment, with a 'ding' noise, a man with a pleasant appearance stepped out of the elevator.
He approached her and greeted. "Hi! Miss Kim, I've brought the things you wanted."
