Jennie was held tightly by Lisa in his arms. She did not wish to struggle out of it, but gloomily responded. "Since you believe in me, why did your expression turn so dark when you heard my second sister mention Kai with my name?"
"I'm just upset at your second sister for speaking nonsense." Lisa's razor-sharp gaze landed on Krystal.
She was instantly frightened into backing away and nearly fell down on the ground.
Although he minded Jennie's past feelings for Kai a little, he had absolute faith in her loyalty towards him.
If Krystal had not been not relying on her crutches, she would have fallen onto the ground and made for an ugly sight. "CEO Manoban, I only mentioned that Kai looked for Jennie in school. I didn't say that she went on a date with Kai. She was the one who came up with those additional words in her own head..."
Lisa's tone was freezing cold. "You were clearly trying to cause a misunderstanding, yet you're still trying to argue your way out of it?"
"I..." Krystal bit her bottom lip in grievance. Her eyes were welling up with tears. "I mentioned Jennie's circumstances with good intentions. In the past, you always listened..."
In the past, it was because Jennie refused to engage with him and always avoided him. Thus, he had no choice but to go through such methods to learn whatever he could about her. "You're a woman full of lies. Do you think you still have the right to speak to me? Scram!"
"CEO Manoban, c-can I head inside the Yu Ting Villa to rest a while before leaving?" Krystal still refused to give up.
She had stood outside the Yu Ting Villa for four hours. She was accustomed to a wealthy lifestyle and was nearly at the end point of her exhaustion.
But she was unwilling to leave just like this.
"Throw these two people far away," Lisa commanded before taking Jennie into the house.
The two bodyguards on their night shifts immediately lifted Krystal and Lee Shuhai up. Then they threw the two of them out, one by one in a perfect downwards curve.
Painful noises soon followed after.
"Ah!"
"Ah!"
These were the miserable cries from Lee Shuhai and Krystal. They were tossed more than ten metres away and ended up rolling down several more metres.
The two bodyguards took in the distance that the bodies had landed at, expressionlessly and felt that this was far enough.
If they had thrown them too close to the villa, they would be forsaking their own lives.
Soon after, they returned to the duty post to carry out their night shifts in appropriate stances.
Jennie was forcefully held in Lisa's arms and brought into the villa's living room.
The moment she stepped into the house, she could smell the fragrance of the dishes on the dining table.
"You haven't eaten?" Jennie took in the fancy, untouched dishes that covered the dining table.
"I was waiting for you." His cold tone was indifferent.
However, Jennie was deeply moved. She responded softly. "The next time I return home late, don't wait for me. You should eat first."
He had a fixed routine for his meals and sleep.
If he missed his usual timings, he would surely be starving.
Lisa narrowed his eyes a little and watched her meaningfully. "Does your heart ache for me?"
"En, en." She rushed to nod her head like an obedient chick.
His cold, heavy voice revealed a hint of anger. "If your heart aches for me, don't always try to leave!"
His expression was stony as he sat down and began eating silently.
If this had been any other day, he would have taken the initiative to feed her.
She approached and began rubbing his shoulders guiltily. "My great CEO Manoban, are you angry?"
He breathed out heavily through his nose. Even the air around him seemed to turn cold
"Don't be angry..." She stood behind his chair and held his handsome face from the back. "I didn't know if you would chase me. I just wanted to throw a little tantrum."
"What if I didn't chase you?"
Then I would have ran away.
Although Jennie thought this way, she did not dare to actually say so!
