[She was as exquisite as a porcelain doll, and had the most vivid and dazzling gaze. When she appeared, even the stunning moon faded into the background.
This was Jennie when she was young.
And that was the very first time I met her.
The Manoban and Kim family were originally unrelated. That year, Father Kim rescued my grandmother. Post that I visited Father Kim with her.
I'm very grateful for that opportunity because it allowed me to encounter Jennie. Till this day, the memories of that time when I met her, remain deeply engraved in my mind.
With that one look, I knew that the person I wanted to share the rest of my life with was Jennie. Thus, the moment we returned home, I clearly told my grandmother that I wanted Jennie. I wanted her to only belong to me for the rest of her life!
Although I was young at the time, I had never requested anything from my family before that. This was the only thing I ever asked of them.
My grandmother stood against everyone's refusal and agreed to my request. Since then, Jennie became my fiancée.
Does everyone really believe that my grandmother would carelessly send me to the Kim family to choose whichever daughter just to repay the debt of saving her life? Krystal sure has some amusing, wishful thinking.
Additionally, though father Kim had done a favour to the Manoban family, the Manoban could have repaid this debt in countless ways. If it wasn't because of my request, why would the Manoban family go against their social status to have a marriage alliance with a family that was considerably lower than them?
Of course, matters of compatibility in terms of power and wealth are but a materialistic way of perceiving the world. In my heart, the only woman who is compatible with me is Jennie.
Krystal has delusional thoughts about possessing wealth and status, and of becoming my fiancée. She even wronged Jennie for having impure thoughts and for wanting my power.
I've seen your calls for 'justice'. Please do not trust everything she says. I believe that my fiancée doesn't have any other men in her heart. The only person she loves is me. Please do not be blinded by Krystal.
- Lisa Manoban]
After reading Lisa's response, Jennie felt her tears welling up in her eyes.
"If it wasn't because Dad was biased, and he made you Madam Manoban, would you be this successful right now? Return the position of Madam Manoban to me!" She could recall the demands Krystal had made in her past life.
"Jenjen ah, you're able to become Madam Manoban right now because your second sister generously gave up her position to you. You have to treat her well and contribute to the Kim family. Find an opportunity to let your second sister be with Lisa. It's time you backed off from the relationship. Lisa is only marrying you in order to fulfil his grandmother's final will. What's the point of a forced wedding like this?" Lilan's nagging also seemed to replay in her mind.
Back then, she had no way of refuting their words.
The problem that had troubled her for two lifetimes was finally resolved after reading Lisa's response.
It turned out that this marriage was not Grandmother Manoban's final wish at all.
Her father had not been biased when he set up the engagement between her and Lisa. Instead, Lisa himself had requested for this marriage!
Due to this misunderstanding, she always believed that she had snatched her second sister's marriage. This was also why she always gave in to her all the time in her previous life.
She regretted the way she constantly avoided and resented Lisa back then. If she hadn't done so, she could have learned about his true feelings much earlier.
Jennie suddenly felt thankful to her second sister for starting that live-stream. Without her interference, she would never have learned about the true reasons behind her marriage matters.
She then searched for the post Krystal had made last night about demanding back what she was owed.
In the past eight hours, a significant number of their schoolmates had expressed their support for Krystal to become Madam Manoban. Some of them sympathised with Krystal and felt that it was understandable that she previously pretended to be Lisa's fiancée. They all felt that Jennie was only lucky to have made it to her current position.
None of them expected that Lisa himself had chosen her years ago.
