Tzuyu leaned in to look at the photo. "Isn't this Kai?"
Jennie nodded. "So you've also recognised him."
Tzuyu frowned. "What is Kai trying to do? He actually used Lisa's name to buy you a phone. Oh, I understand it now! He knows that you won't accept his gift unless he does this."
"That's right."
Tzuyu smiled. "He definitely didn't expect you to reject his gift even after all this trouble." She winked at her mischievously. "My dear, how are you so smart?"
Jennie was slightly proud. "That's because I possess a human brain."
"Puhaha..."
The room was filled with Tzuyu's laughter. Jennie's mood also got better with the noise.
In her previous life, she never had any friends. In this life, she learned that having friends was truly a wonderful feeling.
Sigh! She was truly too foolish in the past. Back then, she would never have figured it out.
The longer one lived, the smarter one tended to become.
Late afternoon, Jennie left the dormitory building and headed for the grassy area by the school lake.
Jiang Xingnan stood in one of the school buildings to track Jennie's movements with his binoculars.
He took in the direction that she was headed for and rushed to arrive by the lakeside before her. He then laid down on the grass.
There were groups of two to three students sitting comfortably on the grass. Some of them were reading, some were sunbathing and the others were chatting.
Jennie found a comfortable position to sit down.
Jiang Xingnan's unhappy voice suddenly rang by her side. "Jennie, how do I end up meeting an ugly woman like you all the time?"
Jennie finally noticed Jiang Xingnan laying behind a large, man-made boulder.
She pursed her lips. As she recalled her earlier conversation with Tzuyu, she suddenly ridiculed him. "Indeed, Jiang Xingnan. Why is it that I keep seeing a bastard like you at every turn?"
"I must be too unlucky." His expression clearly conveyed his disdain.
"I see you at least five to six times a day. How could there possibly be these many coincidences?" She suddenly smiled mockingly. "Jiang Xingnan, could it be that you like me?"
Jiang Xingnan did not expect to be seen through this easily. A suspicious flush appeared on his youthful, handsome features. He stubbornly insisted. "Who would have feelings for you? You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror!"
"Fine. You don't like me." Jennie immediately nodded. "I'm warning you. You better not have any feelings for me. If you ever have feelings for me, you would be a dog."
"Tsk!" He waved his hand. "Quit dreaming. Even if I'm single for the rest of my life, I would never have feelings for you."
"Hu..." She let out a sigh of relief. "That puts me at ease. Remember, don't buy any gifts for me."
He had only just finished preparing gifts for her...
"Otherwise, you'll no longer be a human. You'll be a dog." She smiled happily, ready to leave.
Jiang Xingnan glared harshly at her back view.
He wished he could slap her to death. This ugly woman even saw through his plans to send her gifts.
"Fuck, who does Jennie think she is? She must be delusional." Some of the students by the side could not stand watching the scene any longer. "How could Brother Nan possibly have feelings for her?"
A female student who was familiar with Jiang Xingnan's reputation spoke up. "Our Brother Nan is one of the most attractive boys in our school. Everyone knows that he only likes beautiful girls. Even if he fell for a pig, he would never fall for Jennie..."
Several other students around them heard her and laughed.
But Jiang Xingnan became angry. "What are you talking about? If your brain isn't working, jump into the lake to clear your mind."
