The television screen was displaying photos taken at the location of Lisa's ambush last night.

Jennie glanced at Lisa and felt fearful. "It turns out that you were in such a dangerous situation last night. To think that I still wanted to send you messages." She struggled to imagine the consequences if she had disturbed him then.

"It's alright. If you miss me when I'm not around, feel free to send me a message." He pressed her little head against his chest. "I won't look at my phone when it's inconvenient. But whenever I have the time, I'll definitely respond to you immediately."

Perhaps one day, she would be faced with the possibility that he would never return.

After all, he had yet to identify the person who was after his life. An ambush was bound to happen again.

At the thought that he wouldn't be able to see her again if he died, he felt his chest tightening. He said heavily, "Jennie, if I don't return one day, you..."

She immediately cut him off. "Didn't you say that other men aren't allowed to covet after me? I can only belong to you!"

"Yes!" He could not tolerate any other men possessing her. Just the thought of this left his heart in pain. He gritted his teeth heavily. "You can only be mine!"

"In that case, you have to take good care of yourself and live on well." She sniffed.

He did not know that she could not even think of the idea of losing him.

If he died, her life would lose all its meaning.

"I'll definitely stay alive." He embraced her tightly, as though to press her into being one with him.

Although his embrace was somewhat painful, she endured it quietly. She lifted her head to take in his handsome features.

She knew very well that with his power and position, most people wouldn't be able to even touch him.

That they dared to ambush him meant that the opponent definitely wasn't an ordinary man.

She asked him in worry. "Have you found who the enemy is?"

"No." He was afraid of worrying her and did not mention that this was the second ambush he had met with. The previous one happened when he had been at the border.

However, he felt that he needed to mention this to her because he wanted her to be mentally prepared.

She pursed her lips and frowned. She was worried that he would be in danger again. "Lisa, can you promise me that you won't be injured again?"

It wasn't that Lisa was unwilling to promise her. However, at times, this was out of his control.

He did not want to disappoint her. He offered a compromise. "I'll try my best."

He took in her worried expression and pinched her nose. "It isn't easy to hurt me."

"You have to quickly find out who is targeting you. For the time being, remember to take more people with you when you head out," she nagged him in concern.

His heart was warm. "You're that worried about me?"

"En." She nodded her little head with force.

He was her life!

Lisa was moved and embraced her tightly. His voice was filled with doting as he caressed her long hair. "For your sake, I'll definitely take good care of myself."

These words left her feeling a bit better. She pressed her little face against his firm chest.

Lisa took in the green, purplish marks on her skin. They had only just begun to fade before he gave her more marks.

A hint of heartache flashed past his eyes. He reached for the medicine to put it on her skin.

Jennie was worried that he would lose control again. Thus, she rushed to say, "I'll do it myself. Turn around. You're not allowed to peek!"

He had wanted to take in the sight of the clear lotion against her skin.

He took in her stern, beautiful little appearance and could not bear to refuse her.

Moreover, it was afternoon already. He was worried that she was starving by now.
