"Did you pick a costume yet?"
"No, not yet, what about you?"
"Nothing is catching my eye, do you want to do a couples costume or are we not there yet?"
" What were you thinking? If you thought of the right one I would consider it."
"Do you want it to be Tarantino or can we consider Disney?"
"I'd prefer Tarantino over Disney, but as long as you don't put me in tights I'm pretty open."
"no tights, I promise. Leave it in my hands."
That Saturday Rory and Tristan had agreed to go to a Halloween costume party in Boston with a group of Tristan's friends. This was Rory's first time meeting them as his girlfriend; she did know some of them from previous nights out.
"What if they don't like me?"
"They will love you, You have met most of them before."
"I know but that was just as a friend, I'm worried they will think I'm not good enough for you."
"More like they will think I'm not good enough for you."
"As if!"
"No really. last time you were here the guys were all asking if you were single and if I had ever dated you!"
"I'm not sure if I believe you."
"Well I'm not lying. It would be in my favor for you not to realize that the guys all think that you're hot."
"Sure, good self-esteem, we wouldn't want that now." Rory said coming out of the bathroom, "What do you think?" she asked, twirling around in front of him showing off her sequined flapper twenties dress.
"See, hot! The guys will all be drooling over you," Tristan said, fixing his suspenders. He was dressed like a gangster to match her. His Tommy Gun and jacket were on the bed. "Do you think this gun is going to cause us any issues, or will it be okay because it's a private party?"
"I think it should be fine, it's pretty obvious it's fake."
"Well you're my lawyer so I'll trust you."
"Just remember not to actually use that line."
"Not even as a joke?"
"Not in public, don't need the wrong person to hear it."
"Okay, okay, I'll behave."
"At least until we get home, then you can be as bad as you want." Rory said, leaning over and giving him a kiss.
"Hey guys, how are you?" Nate asked, catching them leaving the bar.
"We're good, how are you doing man?" Tristan asked, glancing around to see if his friend brought a date.
"All good, just doing the rounds, you know what it's like." Nate said with a shrug.
"So you mean you're trying to see who to try to go home with tonight?" Tristan said, smirking at his friend.
"Well we didn't all catch our high school sweetheart."
"High school sweetheart? You mean high school nemesis" Rory said with a scoff.
"Nemesis?" Nate asked, confused, he had thought Tristan always had a thing for Rory.
"Nemesis Rory? I didn't think we were quite that bad," Tristan said, trying to refute her claims.
"Well what other way would you describe us? We definitely weren't sweethearts?" Rory asked, raising her eyebrow at her boyfriend, knowing he would struggle with a response.
