Getting Regina into the car was a bit of a struggle, but luckily, I'd been to her place before when picking up Cady. So, I knew the way.Even so, she didn't say a word. "There's water in the glove compartment. Drink it," I told her, trying to be helpful.
She shot me a glare, but reluctantly reached for the glove compartment.
Regina broke her silence, and her words hung in the air like an unexpected storm. "I saw you and Olivia Bennett getting all close at the party."
I kept my eyes on the road, trying to maintain my focus. "Yeah, I did. What's it to you?" I responded, a hint of defiance in my voice.
"I just thought you should know that she deals, and I'm talking the hardcore stuff. I'm only telling you this because you're Cady's sister."
"What the hell, Regina?" I finally exclaimed, unable to contain my frustration. "You drop a bomb like that, and now I'm just supposed to act like everything's normal?"
Regina leaned back in her seat, her expression unapologetic. "I'm just looking out for you. You're Cady's sister, and I thought you deserved to know what kind of people you're getting involved with."
"You think I can't handle myself? You're the one who just got caught making out with Aaron, and now you're acting all righteous?" I shot back, the tension escalating.
Regina rolled her eyes. "I'm trying to help you, and this is how you react? Olivia's trouble, and I thought you should be aware of it."
"Help me? More like stir up drama. I don't need your version of help," I retorted, frustration seeping into every word.
"Yeah, yeah. Why don't you go knee-deep into Aaron's throat some more?" I retorted, the frustration and sarcasm evident in my tone.
"I knew it. You're jealous," Regina shot back with a triumphant smirk. "You do like Aaron."
"No, Regina. I don't like men," I replied calmly, hoping to put an end to the misconceptions. "No, you're lying," she affirmed with a dismissive tone.
"Yeah, I question," I said, abruptly stopping the car and turning to face her. The tension in the confined space heightened as our eyes locked in a silent challenge.
As I moved closer to her, just mere inches away, Regina's eyes widened in shock, and her face instantly flushed. Surprisingly, she shut her eyes and didn't move back. The tension in the car reached its peak.
I opened her car door, and Regina's eyes immediately shot open. "Wait, what?" she asked, confusion etched across her face.
"We're here, blondie. What did you think was going to happen?" I teased, a mischievous smirk playing on my lips, fully aware of the thoughts that must have raced through her mind.
"Nothing," she huffed and got out of the car in a hurry.
"No thank you?" I questioned her, the confusion evident in my voice. Regina went quiet, and just a moment later, the sidewalk was covered in vomit, and Regina was clutching her stomach.
Regina was clutching her stomach. "I'm a nice person. I will not drive away. I am a nice person, and I will not drive away," I muttered to myself, feeling a sense of responsibility.
Groaning, I reluctantly got out of the car, my initial frustration now replaced by a genuine concern for Regina's well-being.
I held Regina's side and knocked on the door. Her mom quickly answered. "Wow, party girl, you certainly went at it hard. And aww, Y/n took you home. What a sweet girl," she commented with a knowing smile.
Regina, still recovering, shot her mom an annoyed look. "Yeah, yeah, just let me get to bed," she grumbled.
Regina stumbled inside. "Y/n, why don't you stay the night? It's late." "NO," both Regina and I said at the same time. "She probably has to get back to her, oh, I don't know, her nerd stuff," Regina chimed in. Regina's mom raised an eyebrow, looking at me for confirmation. "Regina's right, Ma'am. Very important, erm, nerd stuff," I added with a playful smirk.
"Nonsense. Please, it would make me sad if you didn't," her mom pouted at me.
I nodded my head cautiously. "Great, there is a guest bedroom next to Regina's room, or you can stay with her."
I helped Regina to her room, once again, her being reluctant to my assistance. "Listen, dyke, staying at my house happens to practically no one, so I want you gone first thing in the morning."
"Trust me, blondie, I don't want to be anywhere near your puke breath," I retorted.
Regina looked shocked, and in a moment of self-doubt, she breathed on her hand to try and smell it.
Before I could turn around to go into the bedroom, a shirt and jogging bottoms were thrown onto my head. I examined the clothing. "Didn't expect you to own civilian clothing, your highness."
"It's only 'cause my mom said I had to," Regina admitted with a hint of annoyance.
"Goodnight, your royal highness," I said with a mock bow.
"Yeah, whatever, nerd," Regina retorted with a dismissive wave.
I immediately changed into the clothes I was given, diving straight into the bed, sleep taking me over immediately.
