"What'd you want to say to me?" I ask  as I get into his car. Don't give me that look, I wasn't going to come but he kept on insisting and I couldn't seem to say no. "Nothing, I just wanted to see your face"

I roll my eyes at his response. "Samkelo, I have to get to work" I sigh. "I'll take you to work" He offers, I bite back the smile that threatens to leave my lips. "I'll drive myself"

"Ngiyakucela" He grabs one of my hands. "Mhmmhm" I pull my hand away. "Themba lami" He pecks my lips twice. "Just this once, and you'll stay away from me after that"

"I'll think about it" He turns on the ignition and drives off. "I'm being serious, this" I motion with my finger "Needs to stop, I mean it"

He ignores me and keeps his eyes on the road. "Ke bua le wena" I roll my eyes and look out the window when he continues to pretend not to hear me.

I let out a breath when he parks outside the hospital. "kea leboga" I reach for the door handle, but the door's locked. "Please unlock the door" I calmly ask and he does so.

"Naledi... Have you heard anything on your grandfather's release from prison?" He suddenly asks. Why does he want to know about my grandfather? "No, I haven't" I lie.

"I don't appreciate your dishonesty towards me. Let's try this again, have you heard anything on your grandfather's release? Yebo noma cha?" His face harderns.

"N-No" It comes out as a whisper. "If I find out that you're lying to me I-" I cut him off. "What are you going to do?" I scoff.

"Listen here, you have no right to threaten me. I live my life the way I want to, there are certain thing I don't want to share with you, please respect that. Let this be the last time you blackmail me into seeing you. I've made my decision and I won't change my mind"

I open the door, stepping out before he can protest. I drag my feet into the hospital, knowing he's still staring at me.

*
I am so tired. I slump down onto my bed, sprawling into a comfortable position. I resist the urge to close my eyes.

"Minnie!" Ona screams, walking into the room. "Yoh hhayi, I'm tired Onalerona" I turn my face in the other direction. "I wouldn't know I don't work" She mocks me.

"But anyways, you have a delivery" She sing out. A delivery? I tiredly sit up and she places a bouquet of roses on my lap. "Sbwling to be you right now" I roll my eyes at her before searching for a card with a smile etched onto my lips.

I apologize for the tone I used with you earlier on, Themba lami. Ngicela ungixolele.

The smile on my face slowly starts to fade. I sigh, placing the bouquet on my bed before heading into the bathroom. I take a long hot shower before walking back into the room and getting into bed.

"Not you playing hard to get. That man wants you and here you are trying to push him away." Ona hysterical claps her hands together. "You're the one that told me to stay away from him"

"Yeah but that was until I fell in love. The family finding out is the least of my worries. Just give him a chance. If it doesn't work out, you'll both go your separate ways" My phone rings before I can respond to her.

Samkelo:
Themba lami, unjani?

Me:
I told you to stop, we can't keep on doing whatever this is.

Samkelo:
I'm guessing you got the flowers, do you like them?

Me:
Samkelo, we spoke about this, I let you take me to work and you forget about me. What happened to our deal?

Samkelo:
We didn't speak about anything. I told you I'd think about it and I'm deciding otherwise, I'm not stopping anything.

Me:
I'm not ready, so please. Just leave me alone, it's better that way, trust me.

Samkelo:
I don't think so, I'll see you soon. Dream about me.

Me:
D-

Did he-? That bastard hung up on me! I can hear Ona giggling from the other side of the room, I ignore her and close my eyes, letting sleep take over my consciousness.

*
"Minnie! Tsoga!" I quickly open my eyes to Ona's red ones. "Ke eng? What's going on?!" I quickly sit up. "W-We're under attack. They found us" She starts rambling, I frown getting out of bed.

I put on my sleepers walking towards the window. There are multiple cars, entering the premises, guards are dropping dead like flies and bullets are flying. "Minentle! Onalerona!" Tata shouts.

I grab Ona's hand and walk out, heading to the living room. Our steps echo throughout the house while the constant banging on the front door continues.

I blink away the tears as I run into his arms. "Masihambe, akukhuselekanga apha" Just as those words leave his lips the windows are shot at.

I tightly hold onto him. Mama walks Ona to the garage, trying to calm her down. I feel something dripping onto my shoulder. "Tata!" I scream holding him.

"Don't worry about me, it's just a graze" He shrugs it off, dragging me to the garage. My feet stay glued as I try running back in. "Minentle" He warns. "We can't just leave him here" I head for the stairs.

My feet carry me up to the second floor.  A shriveled scream leaves my lips just as I reach the door. My hand reaches up to cover my mouth just when a loud sob escapes from the back of my throat.

I tear my gaze from the corpse of my grandfather as I take slow steps back. "Tata" I cry out when he hugs me. "Ndiyaxolisa nkosazana yam" He keeps on whispering, leading me away from the gruesome scene.
