"Minnie, Kere okae?!" Ona exaggerates for the tenth time. "I said I'm fine, I'll be back later... Bye" I turn to hang up. "Wait!""Ke eng?" I frown, putting my face in the camera once again. "I-If you're with Samkelo then come back here immediately" She stumbles upon her words. "U bua ka eng nou?"
"H-H-M-Minnie..." She chokes. "Ke eng Ona?!" I sit up. "K-Ke yena- H-He's the one that killed him, come back. P-Please" She chokes out. "Ha-eh, Ona... This is not something to joke about, I know you don't like him but h-he didn't... Ona"
"Ke bua nete hle. Come back, there's a search party out there looking for you. That guy you're with, killed our grandfather" She hangs up. My phone slips from my grip.
No.... He wouldn't... He didn't kill him.... Right? Ona's probably angry and not thinking straight. I request an uber, still contemplating with myself, should confront him or not?
"Naledi" I feel sick to my stomach as he utters those words. "Take me home". "Yini? Kwenzenjani?" He steps closer. "Nkiše gae, Samkelo!" I raise my voice. "Ngenzeni manje? Khuluma nami, ngenzeni?" He tries to touch me.
"You know what? It's fine, I'll leave" I get up, heading for the door. "Let go of me!" I shout, slapping his hand away as it tries to reach for me. "Hlala phansi" He orders. Who the fuck does he think he is. "Askies? U bua le na?" I glare at him.
"Ngithi hlala phansi" He says much more sternly. I hesitate before sitting back down. "Now talk, tell me what I did wrong" He stands infront of me.
"D-Did you kill him?" I stutter. "Ukhuluma ngani? Who did I kill?" His eyes squint. "My grandfather.... Is it true? Did you... Kill him?" I breath out.
"Yes"
He doesn't look like he cares, his face is emotionless. I immediately get up, slapping him across the face. My hand stings as it clenches into a fist. He looks down at me, a small smirk plays on his lips.
"You want me to be honest with you... Right?.... I don't regret it, I enjoyed killing him. He wasn't going to change for shit, I'm glad I've gotten that obstacle out of the way" He shrugs.
"S-Samkelo... Why?" It comes out as a whisper. "You're a smart girl, you'll figure it out. He was better off in prison, although I can't lie and say I loved watching his eyes roll to the back of his head as the bullet penetrated through his skull" I gag, chocking out a sob.
"Now... Let's get back into bed, you wanted to cuddle didn't you? Let's cuddle, Themba lami" He reaches for me. "You're fucking disgusting, sies!" I slap him once again. This time he's angry, he has a scowl on his face.
"To think that I almost gave you a chance, I almost went against my family for you and you prove them right! You're a monster, you deserve to rot in the dark pits of hell!" I point at his chest. "Uqedile?" He asks, unfazed.
"I cried to you! I trusted you and you have the fucking audacity to stand here and tell me you killed him! You kept on apologising, meaninglessly knowing that you're the reason he's dead! You took him from me, Samkelo! You let me cry in your arms, acting all innocent and empathic towards me! You stood there, comforting me knowing very well that you're the reason behind my state! I never want to hear from you again, stay the fuck away from me and I mean it this time!"
I push past him, tears streaming down my eyes as I run out of the house and into the uber.

"Minnie, you need to stop doing this to yourself" Ona sighs, walking into my room. "I'm fine, I have to get to work. We'll talk later" I ignore her previous statement. "Minnie!" She calls out but I'm already out the door.
"Haibo, Entle? O ya kae? Breakfast yona?" Mama asks as I head for the front door. "I have to get to work" I partly lie, opening the door. "Mara E-" I cut her off by shutting the door. This is all my fault.
Tata hasn't been home since the funeral, he's searching for whoever killed Tat'omkhulu, I would tell him but I can't. I tried but I can't. The name has always been so close to leaving my lips but it won't.
I find myself in the same place I've been coming to for the past few days. "Tat'omkhulu... It's me again" I sit on the ground, next to the grave. "I know I'm a constant visitor but I miss you"
"I-I'm sorry, I should probably tell Tata that I know who your killer is but I can't. I don't know why, but I can't. I'm sorry, again... Tata misses you a lot you know. He's always sneaking out to come here and he's always polishing your favourite gun"
"And Ona... She's always wearing that hideous sweater you got her for Christmas. I've seen her cry three times yesterday while staring at your photos.... I cried too"
"Omphile left two days ago, I can tell he's hurting. He's been smoking those humongous cigarettes you used to smoke. I miss you, a lot and I'm sorry, this is all my fault, I love you"
I wipe the lone tear that streams down my cheek. I breath in before getting up walking back to my car and driving off to work. "What's going on?" I ask Martha, the head of my department as people get cleared out of the fifth floor.
"Someone very important just got out of surgery, this floor is off limits to anyone other than the acquired hospital staff or close family" She informs.
"Oh... I'll go back to my ward then" I turn to leave. "Wait. You've been assigned to this patient" She stops me. "I-Uhm... I need to put my stuff in my locker, I'll be right back"
Me? Assigned to a patient? I haven't even been here for a week.
