"We need to talk" I sigh, standing before him

"We need to talk" I sigh, standing before him. "Can't it wait? I have a lot of work to complete" He says without looking up at me. If I don't tell him now, I won't muster up the courage to do it ever again.

"No, it can't" I hesitantly say. He gestures for me to step closer but I sit on the chair opposite him. He leans back onto his chair, closing his laptop.

"I'm leaving" I blurt out.

"Where are you going?" His jaw ticks. "I'm going back to Western Cape" His face immediately harderns. "Samkelo..." I trail off. "Is it because of the last night?" He asks, refering to the accident.

"No, it's best we keep our distance from each other. I don't know what's going on between your family and mine but I can't keep on doing this anymore, I'm sorry". "Naled-" I cut him off.

"I have to go" I get up, walking out before he can respond. "Naledi!" He shouts.  I find Ona waiting for me in the living room. I rush past her and get into her car, patiently waiting for her to get in.

"You did it?" It's the first thing she asks when she enters the car. I nod, staring out the window. "Minnie" She calls out. "I'm fine Onalerona, I'm just tired" I yawn. "O-kay" She silently nods.

My phone keeps on ringing as we deive to the safehouse. I continue to ignore it as we enter the premises, heading into the house. I head straight up to my allocated room without a word to them.

My head hits the pillow and I'm off to sleep with a bruised heart.

"Minnie, tsoga hle" Ona nudges me. "Ke eng?" I frown, sitting up. "You've been asleep for over four hours, it's time for dinner" She drags me out of bed. "I'm not hungry"

"Please" She pouts and I roll my eyes while following her down to the living room. "Entle, wetsalang ka wena?" Mama asks as I sit down on the couch near her.

"Nothing, I'm just tired" I sigh. "Tired ya eng?" She frowns. "Dine-" She cuts Tata off. "I'm talking to my daughter" I guess they're back at it again. "Mama, not today, please" She only glares at me before going back to what she was doing.

Before I can say anything ther door bell rings. All our heads turn to the door when it's opened. My mouth drops as a single tear rolls down my cheek. I quickly get up, hugging him.

"You said you wouldn't be out in six months" I murmer. "What matters is that I'm out now, Right?" He slightly pulls away and I nod in response.

"Angela" He turns to Ona. "Khwezi" She gets up. He gives her a warning look before hugging her. "Wenzantoni apha?" Tata gritts out, they don't really get along that much.

I'm starting to think that Tata's the problem here. He doesn't get along with anyone, not even his own family. "What are we eating in this house?" He ignores Tata's question and walks into the kitchen.

"Yeyi! Ndithetha nawe" Tata glares at him, while following him into the kitchen. "Ucinga ukuba uthetha nabani ngolohlobo?" I sigh, walking back up to Ona and I's room, knowing very well that they're about to argue.

I switch on my phone, seeing the multiple missed calls and texts, flooding my screen. I throw it on top of the bed, heading into the bathroom to take a shower.

"Mara Ona" I frown, entering the room. She's going through my phone. "It rang three times while you were in the bathroom, I wanted to make sure no one died phela" She shrugs.

"Bring my phone" I put out my hand. "Wait" She holds up her pointer finger, while scrolling using the other hand. "Ona" I sigh.

"He's calling" She laughs, answering. "Take" She hands it to me. "Onalerona!" I hiss, snatching the phone from her. She wiggles her eyebrows before walking out.

Me:
Smakelo, stop calling me. I won't change my mind.

Samkelo:
We can figure a way around this, come back so we can speak about it.

Me:
I can't... Stop calling me.

Samkelo:
Naledi-

Me:
Please

I hang up, wiping my tears away. "I don't understand why you can't just give him a chance, Minnie. He's serious about you" Ona peaks her head in through the door.

"I can't. The same way you can't be with Sbonelo. It's too dangerous" I place my phone face down. "Okay ke, maybe you can be with him and not tell anyone" I raise an eyebrow at her.

"Why do you sound like you're hiding something" She folds her arms around her chest. "Uhm- I'm not, I'm just saying" She quickly says. "Onalerona" I slowly say.

"I love him, Minnie" She mutters. "Do you want to get killed?" I frown. "No... But, no one will find out" She sits next to me. "Okay, do what makes you happy but when you get into trouble, don't drag me down with you"

"But think about it. He like him and he likes you too. Put the family aside for now and think about YOU." She slowly says. "I'm not changing my mind, things won't work out between us"

"Mhmmhm, You're missing out on a lot, but anyway I have a date to get ready for." She giggles, walking into the bathroom. I heavily groan, closing my eyes trying not to think about what Ona said.

I'm not taking any chances, I'm not putting my family in danger. He could be using me to get to them. That family's dangerous and I won't get involved with it. My phone dings and I look down at the text.

Smakelo:
Meet me outside your safehouse tommorow morning.

I read the text over and over again until my head starts to ache. "And then? Wena, what's making your leg shake like that?" Ona laughs. I ignore her question.

Me:
I thought I made myself clear when I told you that I don't want to be with you.

Samkelo:
I'm not buying it, I want you to say it to my face.

I switch off my phone, throwing my head back with a frustrated cry.
