There was no movement, no sound, just silence. That silence is filled with unseen anger. Even in a full moon the Alpha King was hidden in shadows that seemed to quiver in excitement for the oncoming fight.

Taking a deep breath, and letting it out as I called forth the change. When I felt that my emotions were in control I slowly opened my eyes. And at the moment I really didn't care that I was as naked as the day I was born.

"I'm not going to let you take them away from us," I promised, breaking the silence.

Vincent brushed shoulders to assure me that he was with me every step of the way.

The Alpha King didn't say anything at first, but then said coldly, "Do not make any empty threats."

My eye twitched. An emotionless laugh came surprisingly from me, and my voice was just as emotionless. "You have a lot of nerve, you know that?" I said. "Seriously, you trespass in to our territory, and kidnap my pups. I really don't think that was a good idea."

The twins stirred in his arms, making me take a step forward as my heart pounded in my chest.

"I could kill you and your pack, and any other pack, whenever I want. I choose to stay, simply to tell you that I will take what is rightfully mine. Not right now, but in the future."

A low growl vibrated my chest as I took more steps forward. Vincent made a painful noise from behind me. I turned around and cried out as Vincent fell to the floor.

"What did you do to him?" I screamed, holding his head in my lap.

"I knocked him unconscious, of course." Beta Ryan stepped from the shadows, a cruel smile on his face. The Beta walked over to his Alpha and took one of the twins into his arms.

The next thing he did shocked me beyond any words; he walked straight up to me, and placed Zachery in my arms. Through the confused state I was in I tightened my arms around my son, reluctantly handing him off to a warrior named Riley.

Another figure burst from the side of us, and in came Anthony to the rescue. Plus about a few hundred werewolves right behind him.

"That will be the last time you put your hands on any of my Alpha's and their pups," Anthony snarled, crouching protectively in front of us along with Seth and some warriors.

I gently lay Vincent's head on the ground, and stood up. "Warriors, protect my mate and son while I take care of our enemy."

The Alpha King lay Isabella on a patch of grass nearby before facing me. Once he stepped away from my daughter I began to advance. Feeling power pump through my body as I transformed and charged.

In those couple seconds it took to reach the Alpha King realization of what I was willing to do for my children crashed in to me.

I now know why my mother sacrificed herself for me all those years ago. . .it was because her love for me was so strong that her own life meant nothing to her if it came to my own. Despite the fact that I was really her niece - due to the fact that her twin sister and brother-in-law, my biological mother and father, dropped me off at her and her family's doorstep when I was not even a week old - she cared for me. The man and woman I considered my father and mother, Walter and Helen, took me in with their own children, my three big brothers Alex, Derrick, and Paul. So as I stand on the same cliff she took her own life at - and the hunter who wanted me for my pure blood genes - I stare in to the eyes of a soulless monster. A being that has no heart, and that monster wants something from me that I cannot give without a fight; my precious child. I place myself between my loved ones and the Alpha King, ready to fight till death if I have to. And so it begins. . . .
