Love is what could either destroy or bring peace. In my case, it's the ladder. Because staring down at my little hybrids, love brought peace to my soul.

"It's weird without them inside me," I whisper.

Vincent brushes a fallen hair out of my face, brushing his lips against mine. I pull away and cover my mouth.

At his raised eyebrow I said, "Bad breath." Rolling his eyes, he removes my hand and claims my lips, his tongue exploring as I yanked on his hair.

"Geez, do you guys ever stop?" Alex huffed in fake annoyance.

"Tell me about it, there's children here!" Paul fake gagged.

"Yeah, and you're one of them," Derrick snickered. Paul stuck his tongue out at him so Derrick retaliated with a punch. They were slapping each other but stopped when Alex slapped them upside the head.

I laughed, stopping as it caused me pain. Yup, seemed like things were going back to normal.

Alex is the oldest of us, next was Derrick, and then Paul – who was only a year older than me, and I'm twenty – and finally, me, the youngest.

They all gave me a hug and congratulated us after they did that weird bro hug with my mate. Their mates Stacy, Ava, and Alice walked in and came straight to me, giving gentle hugs and gushing about how adorable the babies are.

"We're proud of you, lil sis," Paul said proudly, holding my hand as Vincent went to talk to the girls so we could have privacy.

"Yeah, you've been through a lot of shit. . . ." his voice trial. The glare I sent him was enough to make him fidget.

"There's babies present," I growl.

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"Anyways like I was saying you've been through a lot of poopie so you don't have to worry." He grins. I roll my eyes.

Alex also rolls his eyes before focusing on me. "Ellie, I know you blame yourself for what happened. Don't. You have you're mate. You have you're family and friends. But most important of all, you have your babies."

Tears brimmed my eyes as he'd been talking. I quickly wiped them away to get a better view of the man that practically raised all three of us when Walter was alive and had turned from his children because of the loss of his mate, Helen.

"Thanks you guys. I mean it. You're words mean a lot to me." Looking at my brothers' faces brought back good and bad memories.

"Cousins!" Adrian's squeal of joy caught our attention to where the twins are sleeping in their beds. Jeremy gazed at them in curiosity, looking up at Alice before looking back down.

Paul smiles lovingly at his son and mate, kissing my head, saying, "You must be tired. We'll leave so you and your mate can get some sleep."

"We'll visit tomorrow," Stacy promises, hugging me. Alex and Derrick gave a hug and kisses before they left with their mates.

"Bye, bye," Adrian said, waving. I waved back as he disappeared.

Vincent walked over to the bed with the twins, holding us while whispering how much he loves us. I smile and fall asleep, dreaming a dream I didn't want.

His cold voice spoke up behind me. I whirl around but everywhere I look there's darkness.

"Where's my babies?" I snarl, attacking the air.

He chuckled with no emotion, taunting me. "You think I let you go because I wanted to free you?"

"Then why? Why would you let me go? I know there's a reason." Even though I knew why.
