The field was transformed in to a beautiful place. Christmas lights decorated the trees and the torches surrounding the area gave everything a comforting presence. If only they would be enough for the people coming.
I look over the humongous crowd of werewolves that have gathered for this important meeting. It's also to celebrate Christmas Eve which is in an hour to this minute.
The Alpha's are all here, right behind me actually. We stood on the stage that rose up from the group to give us a chance to be heard. We're beside each other as we faced our packs.
"We brought you here tonight to tell you grave news," Derrick said.
Damon was next. "News that will make fear rise up inside you, but that doesn't mean you have to give in to it."
"Even though you will be fearful of what might happen in the future you need to stay calm and let us explain." Sean's voice held power as he looked to the crowd.
Actually, all of us had our dominant Alpha out so the power level is practically suffocating everyone.
"We're going to ask you a question. Remember, stay calm because the only way to get pass this is to be reasonable." Paul nods at Alex to take over.
"How many parents here have had their children talking of a person named the Man?" Alex said. Hands all over raised.
I swallowed. Sure, I was expecting a multiply amount of werewolf parents to have had this problem, but this many - it's unbelievable.
"The Man is the Alpha King," Sean said.
As soon as the words were out the crowd did exactly the opposite of what we asked of them; they went into a full blown panic. Men and women grabbed their children and tried to leave but they couldn't. Not yet. Not until they hear the rest of it.
I decided to step in 'cause things were getting way out of hand. Took a step forward and raised my voice over the chaos. "Calm down." They still didn't calm down. Damn, they're so scared that even I wasn't enough.
I don't mean to brag, but I'm the most powerful Alpha besides the Alpha King. Whatever the hell he is is way more powerful than me. Anyways, my command was supposed to make them stop and do exactly what I ordered - it didn't.
Sighing. I hate those torches. Weren't a damn help. Still love them though. All standing tall and looking pretty.
Stop thinking about the damn torches, I thought in exasperation. Sometimes I really question my position in the pack.
Rolling my eyes at myself, I focus back to the problem: the werewolves were panicking.
I nod over my shoulder. The Alpha's stepped forward, gathered our Alpha power, and pushed outward.
"Calm down!" We ordered together. And the crowd calmed.
"We don't know what will happen in the near future," Vincent said, meeting as much gazes he could, "but I do know that if we give the Alpha King what he wants like cowards then we'll we lose each of our packs names."
Us Alpha's and the Luna's, along with the children, took a step forward, called out our own pack name, and stepped back for another to step forward.
"The Howler pack." Alex and Stacy and Adrian.
"The White Shadow pack." Derrick and a pregnant Ava.
"The Sharp Fang pack." Paul and Alice and Jeremy.
"The Eclipse pack." Damon and a pregnant Naomi.
"The Midnight pack." Sean and his blue haired Melissa.
