The proximity was insane; I could feel the warmth of his breath brushing against my lips, a tantalizing reminder of how close we truly were.

"What were you doing here, my little 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫?" he murmured, his eyes sparkling with mischief, and suddenly, the world around us faded away, leaving just the two of us suspended in this unexpected moment.

Out of the blue, his expression darkened, a cloud of displeasure settling over his features.
'Why was she really here.'

"Excuse me! I'm not a troublemaker!" she retorted, her voice laced with indignation. Her brows furrowed, and her nostrils flared.

How could he call her that?

He sighed, his breath a gentle breeze, as he pulled her along with him, to a more comfortable standing position.

"And I'm certainly not yours!" she declared, her finger poking at his chest.

His gaze lingered on her, a silent appraisal. "I apologize," he said, his voice sincere. He knew an apology was the only way to calm her, to soothe the ruffled feathers.

Yet, a flicker of confusion danced in his eyes. He had assumed she was asleep, unaware of her presence in his room. Perhaps Katherine hadn't given her a proper orientation.

She thought she had outsmarted him, her stealthy maneuver a futile attempt to remain hidden. But her scent, a fragrant trail, betrayed her presence. A knowing smile crept across his lips.

"Why are you grinning?" she demanded, her arms crossed defensively.

His usually immaculate hair, once perfectly coiffed, was now disheveled, a proof of the night's restless slumber. The stubble that had graced his jawline had vanished, replaced by a smooth, clean-shaven surface.

"Is it a crime?" he countered, his arms crossed defensively too. His posture was authoritative, a subtle assertion of dominance.

Her eyes roamed over his form, taking in the muscular contours beneath his partially unbuttoned dress shirt. Heat surged through her veins, a blush painting her cheeks.

The man had been about to undress, his intentions laid bare, when something had caught his attention. He had caught her, red-handed, attempting to hide in his bathroom.

Her thoughts raced, a whirlwind of embarrassment and confusion. The zipper of his jeans was open wide, offering an unintentional glimpse of his boxer briefs and the impressive bulge beneath. She swallowed hard, her heart pounding in her chest.
He looked impossibly large, a sight both intimidating and alluring.

Flustered, she averted her gaze, her hands nervously clutching the edges of the towel.
Finally, she found her voice. "No," she replied, her tone barely a whisper.

He watched her with amusement, her blush deepening as she ogled him, her fingers fidgeting with the towel.

Her adorableness captivated him, her beauty a constant source of wonder. How much longer would he have to wait before she was his?
