𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐘 𝐒𝐈𝐗 ~ ᴇᴅɪᴛᴇᴅ °∇°

Perched atop an immense pink mountain, we found ourselves enveloped in a soft embrace of blue clouds that danced lazily around us. The spot where we sat was as plush as a down blanket, and the view that stretched out before us was breathtaking, a vast expanse where nature and magic intertwined seamlessly. There was no sun to cast its rays upon us, yet a gentle warmth radiated, filling the air with a comforting glow. Birds flitted about, their vibrant plumage a blur of color, while butterflies wove gracefully through the air, each flutter adding to the enchanting tapestry of our surroundings.

Why was the mountain pink? Perhaps it was the touch of magic that lingered in the very essence of this place.

"It's so quiet up here, as if… no one else exists," I mused aloud, my gaze sweeping over the kaleidoscope of trees and flowers, each hue more vivid than the last. It struck me then that he had similar ones at his mansion, a detail that tugged at my heart.

"It's peaceful. This has always been my sanctuary, even before we met. I used to come here alone," he replied, the warmth of his presence drawing him closer to me.

I turned my head, my eyes tracing the handsome features of the man beside me—his striking face, captivating eyes, sensuous lips, and thick dark curls that framed his visage perfectly.

"I'm grateful we crossed paths, and that you're no longer alone," I said, a dreamy smile escaping me as I lost myself in his gaze.

"I'm grateful too. Believe me, I wouldn't trade this for anything," he assured me earnestly.

"When I first laid eyes on you, it felt as though I had known you forever. It was surreal, especially considering my beliefs about soulmates," I confessed, my heart racing at the memory.

His lips curled into a knowing smile. "You know, having a soulmate is a gift, meant for every human, as well as the faes and vampires."

I listened intently, hanging onto his every word.

He inhaled deeply, collecting his thoughts. "While we all know we are destined for one special person, the reality can be different. Sometimes, life leads us astray from the path laid out for us by the universe."

"And just like that, you find yourself off course, ending up with someone completely unexpected," I interjected, the weight of his words resonating within me.

"Exactly," he affirmed, his gaze steady.

"But how did you know I was in trouble?" I asked, curiosity piquing my interest.

He took my hand gently, intertwining our fingers with a tenderness that sent shivers down my spine. "That day was my first in that city. I wandered outside, and somehow, your energy reached out to me."

His eyes sparkled with memories as he continued, "I could feel your heartbeat."

"What was it like?" I squeezed his fingers, eager for his response.

"Your heart. It was racing with fear, and do you know what that made me feel?"

I shook my head, anticipation building within me.

"I felt the bond of a mate. And then I saw you, and in that moment, I just knew."

"Knew what?" I probed, searching his gaze for answers.

He leaned in, our noses brushing together, a tantalizing closeness that made me giggle softly. "That you were mine, and mine alone," he whispered, a smile playing on his lips. "The bond was an undeniable force, pulling me in with such intensity that I felt more alive than ever. All the signs were clear; I needed nothing more."
