"So, how did it go?" Zhavia asked eagerly, her curiosity evident as she leaned forward, eager to uncover the details of what transpired during their absence. Katherine and Loui lounged comfortably on the couch, their attention fully captured by Rachel's impending revelations.

Rachel began to recount the entire saga, meticulously weaving together the events of the day, though she discreetly omitted the more intimate moments shared with Rolf, as always. He had departed shortly after they returned to his opulent mansion, a message from his mother pulling him away from her side.

"Wicce... That's a lovely name," Katherine mused, her tone thoughtful as she pondered its significance.

"Yeah, but her personality is absolutely revolting!" Loui snorted, wrinkling his nose in distaste.

"I’m just counting down the days until your union! We’re going to drink, feast, party, and indulge in some serious fun! Wow!" Zhavia exclaimed, her voice rising with excitement as she raised her glass of wine triumphantly into the air.

"Cheers to sex!" Loui chimed in, his enthusiasm infectious.

"Absolutely!" Katherine beamed, her eyes sparkling with anticipation for the upcoming celebration.

Rachel shook her head, amusement dancing in her eyes as a broad grin spread across her face, her heart swelling with warmth at the prospect of the joyous occasion.

With a flick of the wrist, Rachel turned on the tap, watching as the water gushed forth, filling her glass to the brim. She lifted it to her lips, drinking deeply until the cool liquid slid down her throat, satisfying her thirst. With a contented sigh, she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, reveling in the simple pleasure of the moment.

A soft, involuntary burp escaped her as she placed the empty glass in the sink, her mind wandering to Rolf. It was already 8:40 p.m., and he still hadn’t returned. Why was he taking so long? The nagging feeling of absence settled in her chest—she missed him more than she’d anticipated. After a delightful dinner, Loui and Zhavia had left, and Katherine had retreated to bed early, leaving her alone with her thoughts.

She sighed, resting her hands on either side of the sink, her mind racing with worries and longing.

"Hello, Vixen!" A soft, weary voice greeted her, accompanied by heavy, labored breaths.

Rachel spun around sharply, narrowing her eyes in confusion. "Notre?!" she exclaimed, disbelief coloring her tone.

"Notre Dame in the flesh, babe! At your service, ma'am." He bowed slightly, his long, silvery hair tied back with a golden pin, his elven ears proudly displayed beneath his dark cloak.

"Um, hi. What brings you here?" she asked, still trying to process his sudden appearance.

"Well," he sighed, a hint of gravity in his tone. "I'm here to prepare you for the mating ceremony." He clasped his hands behind his back, his demeanor calm yet serious.

"Really?! So soon?" Rachel’s eyes widened, her heart racing at the news.

"It’s in three days. Rolf has already arranged everything. Your union has gained approval from both councils, though your father—initially hesitant—came around once he saw how deeply you and Rolf care for one another," he explained, a knowing smile playing at the corners of his lips.

That was monumental news. Her father was aware of everything? She felt a swell of confidence; surely her mother and sister had helped sway the not-so-old man after hearing just how wonderful Rolf was.
