Rachel's ankle nearly twisted under the strain as she cautiously descended the staircase. Despite her repeated attempts to find calmness through deep breaths, unease still clenched at her senses.

The distant voices grew closer with each step they took.

At the foot of the staircase, Rachel and her companion came face to face with Rolf's back. He stood there, engaged in conversation with another person. A man with sun-kissed blonde hair and piercing green eyes captured her attention. Though undeniably handsome, there was an allure about Rolf that surpassed this newcomer.

Their heights were almost equal, yet Rolf held a slight advantage. Rachel surveyed Rolf's profile, the cascade of his curly hair just barely grazing his ears. A length that wasn't excessively long but enough to add to his charm.

When the green-eyed man caught sight of them, he discreetly cleared his throat and flashed a smile. His eyes, however, alerted Rolf to their arrival before a word was spoken.
As Rolf whirled around, a surge of excitement brimmed on his face at the sight of his beloved.

Parting his lips, Rolf's gaze fixated on Rachel, mirroring the wonderment that danced within his eyes. Every fiber of him absorbed her presence, as if drinking in the essence of her being. Rachel's breath hitched, her own eyes locking with his in equal intensity. Her attention caught on the faint hint of facial hair adorning Rolf's jawline and beneath his nose. Soft, pink lips remained as captivating as ever.
Contrasting with his messy black curls that danced on his forehead. He was dressed impeccably in a knee-length black coat, a crisp white shirt peeking through, tucked neatly into sleek black leather pants, and polished ankle boots completing the ensemble.

Zhavia's throat cleared, her voice slicing through the air like a sharp blade, abruptly interrupting the silent interlude. Rolf's eyes dropped sheepishly, his tongue darted out to moisten his now parched lips, and he felt an unmistakable pang of embarrassment upon realizing he had been caught in the act of staring.

Rachel cleared her throat, a delicate twitch of her lips betraying her discomfort. A strand of her hair escaped her grasp, curling playfully around her ear. Rolf opened his mouth, a silent plea for words, but none found their way to his tongue. He was struck dumb, his mind a whirlwind of confusion.

"Ladies, ladies," a voice cut through the awkward silence. "My name is Louis Vendettaz, but you can call me Loui. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." A man with sun-kissed hair and a confident stride stepped forward, his hand outstretched.

Rachel, with a graceful nod, accepted his offer, their palms meeting in a firm handshake.
Loui's gaze then shifted to Zhavia, a flicker of curiosity sparking in his eyes. He took a moment to appraise her, his eyes scanning her from head to toe. A frown creased his brow as their gazes locked, an unspoken challenge hanging in the air.

"It's a delight to finally meet you, my dear," he said, his voice laced with a hint of flirtation. Zhavia, her expression unreadable, extended her hand, their fingers intertwining with a perfect fit.

Loui's lips curved into a satisfied smirk. He had found her, his soulmate.

"Ah, my beloved raccoons!" Katherine's cheerful voice echoed from the dining room. She burst into the room, her arms outstretched.
Rolf sighed, a gentle smile playing on his lips. "We're not raccoons, Katherine," he corrected, his tone laced with a hint of amusement.

"Nonsense," she replied, her eyes sparkling. "You're absolutely adorable. I've missed you terribly." She enveloped him in a warm embrace, which he returned with equal affection.
