"Whose house is this?" Nitya asked, staring at the simple place in front of her.

"It belongs to an old man. It's been empty for a while. I got here yesterday and rented it for my stay," Adwait said, gently taking her hand in his.

Nitya nodded and let him guide her inside the house. As soon as they crossed the threshold, he locked the door, pushed her gently against the wall, and pulled her into a tight hug. He buried his face in the crook of her neck.

Nitya wrapped her arms around his neck. She was desperately wishing to freeze this moment forever.

They stayed in that position, not wanting to let go. Adwait held her cheeks and kissed her all over her face. "I'll miss these moments."

"Please, stop speaking these words. I cannot bear to hear them," Nitya pleaded, embracing him tightly.

"Just a moment ago, weren't you the one telling me to go back to my parents, leaving you behind? How will you handle the separation, my love, if you find it tough to bear just words?"

"I don't know. I just can't handle hearing any of this. Let's forget I said anything," Nitya murmured, burying her face in his chest.

She said those words with real sincerity. She just couldn't be heartless and rip him away from his parents after he opened up about his family. As soon as he shared his situation, all she could think about was his family well-being. But now, she wished she could just wipe those thoughts away. Putting words into action isn't as easy as just saying them, after all.

Adwait gently pulled her away from the hug. "I get it, the struggle between your mind and heart when you said that. Just remember, my love for you isn't going anywhere. Got it?"

With a quiet nod, she wiped away the tears streaming down her face.

"I don't want to see any more tears from you. I'd rather say goodbye seeing your smiley face rather sadness. We have just this one day together, my love, and I want to make some beautiful memories with you."

Nitya nodded. She did not to waste this special day on tears. She wanted to embrace it with a heart full of peace. "So, what's the plan?"

"Maybe we should start by grabbing something to eat. I heard what you said as soon as I walked in. I'm tempted to give you a hard time about it, but I'll let it slide for now," he mused.

"As if you've eaten anything yourself," Nitya shot back, folding her arms. But her expressions softened realizing he had too much on his own plate.

Before she could sink back into sorrow, Adwait gently took her hand and guided her toward the kitchen. "We're both cooking today, alright? Even though I know you can't out-cook me, that's okay. I'll teach you," he teased.

"Excuse me? Did I just hear you say I can't cook? Oh, I definitely can, and I'm about to prove it," she declared, grabbing ingredients from the counter. "You cook yours, and I'll cook mine, so I don't mess up your dish."
