Lalisa couldn't sleep a wink.
After Jeongguk had fallen asleep, she tiptoed all the way to the kitchen to read the rest of the documents. Bothered was an understatement. She was enraged. She couldn't believe someone could do such a thing to Chaeyoung. Moreso, to anyone.
Upon reviewing the evidence presented to her, she found out Chaeyoung wasn't the only victim. There were three of them. The other one is Chaeyoung's co-actor, and the other is nowhere to be found.
Lalisa munched took a bite from her apple before she flipped another page. She told Alice she's doing this not because she's Chaeyoung's friend, but because she wants something in return — that is, from Alice. She was lying in the first part. She's doing this because she is Chaeyoung's friend. And to be her friend meant to be protected from any harm.
"I see you're doing overtime without your husband's knowledge, chief." Lalisa flinched, not expecting Jeongguk to wake up. He exited their bedroom and yawned as he made his way toward Lalisa. "What's this about? Work from Seoul?"
Lalisa shook her head. At least, she can be honest in that part. "Just... a favour I'm doing."
Jeongguk arched an eyebrow as he rubbed his right eye, still feeling drowsy. "You're doing favours now? Do they pay the fine, too?" He squinted his eyes at her.
"It's for a friend." She giggled, finding Jeongguk being jealous adorable. "A close friend."
"This isn't for Bambam, is it?" He pulled a chair and sat right across from Lalisa. "I mean, I have no problem with him. But, you know, you kinda did like the guy for quite some time and were the reason why you got drunk at that bar where we first met."
"Then we had sex," Lalisa added.
"Yes, then we—Lalisa," Jeongguk groaned, ears turning red.
"We're married, Jeon Jeongguk. You should get used to it," Lalisa teased and shrugged. She eyed the documents she was reading once more.
Jeongguk pouted. "You didn't answer the question, though . . ."
Lalisa rolled her eyes. "It's for Chaeyoung," she answered, lifting her eyebrows. "You know, the girl you liked for quite some time, who was the reason why you got drunk at that bar where we first met." She wiggled her brows, teasing him even more.
"I should've just kept my mouth shut. This darn mouth." Jeongguk's lips formed a thin line as he patted his lips with his palm. "What do you mean, though? Is Chaeyoung having trouble with work? Does she need to file a lawsuit for trespassing or stalking?"
"Someone trespassed and stalked her before?" Lalisa's mouth stood agape.
Jeongguk nodded. "She's quite famous. Ever since someone trespassed and stalked her, she has lived together with Jimin hyung."
"Oh, I see." She nodded. "This is... quite similar," she mumbled. "I'm doing her a favour. It's a private matter. I'll tell you when—"
"Just tell me what you can, tell me what you must." Jeongguk gave her a faint smile. "Since you're already awake and I assume I can't convince you to sleep, what would you like me to cook for you?"
