In the night you follow a light
You've climbed the rocks and threw what rots
As you're guided by a single whisper
That dwells in the soul of someone who whimpersWhat are you doing here?
Why are you going there?
Why not worry for yourself?
What makes you care about her/him?The painted lies by enemies seem to glow brighter by now
It's your choice to erase them and mend what's broken
And replace it with memories she/he likesThe field of flowers don't shy away from you
They murmur their owner's troubles
What hurts is heard, what hates is burned
Will you help or will you turn back?Gentleness isn't the only way to go about
Pick up the hammer and destroy the doubts
You won't need them much
But they dreamt for you a lot-------------
This poem is about helping someone during the times of their insecurities or those emotional times when they doubt themselves and feel depressed. Lots of people like to keep secrets about what they're going through because they don't feel safe. They hide for their own personal reasons, but they could be afraid of the pain they will feel when someone doesn't give them the help they need.
*Meanings
[First stanza, first verse]
This whole stanza is about venturing into someone's heart. They let you into their world when they trust you a lot, lifting the veil of darkness (as in night) to reveal their vulnerable sides to you. The light is themselves, showing you the way to the deep parts of their heart.[Third stanza, first verse]
The flowers are just for the story. But after taking the journey to this side of your friend, you will reach that part of them that tells you about the tough times they had in life. Sometimes, it's their worries or their disappointments. They're not as shy to you as they were when you met them because they feel safe showing their vulnerability to you.[Fifth/last stanza, second verse]
Like said in the first verse, sometimes gentleness isn't enough. Their insecurities over power your voice and the only way to break through is if you break them too. It will hurt, it will pain them with each passing word as you tell them the realities of what truly is going on. But in the end, the trick might work.
Some people need to wake up, they need to leave this circle that affirms their insecurities- the thoughts that tell them what they believed of themselves. It might hurt if you choose this harder way, but it will also be worth it in the end. That is, if they also pick to see and believe.[Fifth/last stanza, third and last verse]
It's easy to think we can manage on ourselves. I mean, we're born in an era where we're more independent and divided than ever! We don't need others to help us or maybe some just like spending time in their own company. However, I've learned that someone out there might need you, and they're waiting for you to help them or be with them. So in the end, it's not necessarily about you but also about the other person.Again... I'm not super experienced and others might know it better than me. It's better to look at other people's point of views and experiences too.
