No POV:

Sonic's fur was a light shade of khaki, with the mixture of white. His wings were flourishing in the colors of light blue, cyan, and white. The three gems floating over his head, glowing bright as they are surrounded by a slightly spiky halo. Looking like a god. His tail now having feathers of their own, mixed with the same colors of light blue, cyan, and white. His eyes had a buttery yellow cornea, while his pupils were just slightly darker than the red. The small glowing dust fell to the ground as the ground underneath him grew plants. Ones that shimmer, just like the previous ones. Sonic slowly turned around as the nature grew underneath where he stood. Looking back at Shadow and Silver. Both were bloody and bruised messes. The two aliens, seeming to be staring at a king... a god... how could you even describe such? Sonic kept his wings spread out as he turned his body fully around, his gaze looking like one that could bring you to hell with the snap of his fingers. Sonic slowly advanced towards them, the nature following behind him as a trail. Silver groaned as he sat up, Shadow stayed laid back on his elbows. Both in such utter shock. Sonic stood between the two as he looked at them both with time. Sonic took a deep breath as he let his muzzle tear open to show his jagged teeth and glowing teal colored mouth. His light blue coloring started to glow. Only looking at Shadow as the ebony alien started to float. Then he looked at Silver, as he did the same. Getting both of them to stand up as he takes a deep breath.

------------------------------------------------------------

Sonic POV:

I felt so calm, I hadn't felt such a way in ages. My mind was blank, yet full of thoughts. Then I heard a voice speaking to me. It sounded elegant, one with the mannerisms of royalty. I listened to it as I zoned out of reality.

(F) Voice: "Sonic, you must go back to find the castle. It will be the answer to everything you've questioned."

I listened to the voice. I didn't even say anything to Shadow or Silver, I just wanted everything to make sense. 'Why do I look like this now? Am i truly just an alien? Can I honestly do anything to fix this world?' I thought to myself. I walked off as the other two looked at each other with confusion in their eyes. They ended up following me a little far behind. I flapped my wings once, going up the steps all and landing right in front of the heavy doors. I opened them with ease. Seeing the nature inside, it was all rotted and torn up from the blast I had caused. I then heard the voice speak again.

(F) Voice: "Go to your room, Sonic"

I nodded my head and went upstairs to my room on the second story. Going into my room, everything was in disarray. I then felt my feathers twitch and shiver the closer I got to my bookshelf that I used to just throw stuff on; or cool things I had found when I was out on adventure. I then noticed something I never put on the top shelf. I go to grab it, but it won't move until I hear a huge click. The bookshelf slowly moved as dust crept up around me. I cough and push the dust away from my face as I open my eyes to see a small walkway. Having to bend down to walk through it. As it comes to an opening showing an entire roof filled to the brim with information. About this planet, about this alien tribe I seemed to be a part of. Seeing the drawings on the walls as I could read every inscription under the pictures. It read out a story. One that made my head hurt. All this information all in one sitting, it almost made me nauseous. I put my paw on the walls, feeling every crevice under my fingertips. The air was musty and old, but everything in this room was filled with the story I was missing. My entire life has been a lie till now. Reading the story, all the way from the beginning.

------------------------------------------------------------------

(The Story)

There will be a warrior, one born of Hephelin blood. The daughter of the king and queen will go through hardships. One that will push her to the boundaries, or should we say he. Over the course of time, will become one of the strongest warrior's planet O-Z-2 has ever seen. Becoming the king as well as a leader of many. Not only will his followers and peers look up to him. But even strangers will look at him and grow to be fond of his rule. No one dares to break or run from him, knowing they would not have a chance. He puts trust in his citizens as well as his lover and ones he calls family. Those who harm or at fault with him, will see to be suppressed. Of course, this king will not come to power until he finds his true potential. Over the years of suffering, he will finally find a light to fight. Once he has found it, the secret he has been kept from since he was little. He will become not only a king, but a god in everyone's eyes. Known as the king of the living. Mystic powers that he won't even recognize till later in his rule. Only one will ever surpass him, but it will be before the king finds his true meaning. Only he shall not only be the creator, but the destroyer of all beings. He decides when you're done, as well as starting a new beginning. No one will live in vain in his presence. Everyone will live a prosperous life when near him. Especially the ones who have found a bond with the leader. He will also find the souls he has lost along the way... letting them breathe a second time.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Sonic POV:

I felt dizzy when reading all of this. 'Is this all about me? Is it all true...? If it's true, that means I could fix all of this mess.' I thought to myself, as I then reread the story, making sure on every detail I may have missed. Shadow and Silver walked into the room, as they were in awe of the history they were stuck staring at. The ancient pictures and writing. I then found that one sentence that made my heart skip a beat. 'He will also find the souls he has lost along the way... letting them breathe a second time.' 'What does this mean? A second chance... who is this talking about? Maybe this isn't talking only about one person. It does say 'them', so it is plural. Maybe... no... it can't mean them, could it?' I thought as my mind spun. 'Was this talking about Tails and Knuckles? What if I can bring them back?! No, I'm only wishing, only dreaming. But maybe there is something in this old castle that tells me I can.' I smiled as I turned around, looking down at Shadow and Silver.

Sonic: "I know how to rewind, how to fix all of this. I am the key to this world. I was never a mobian, that was a false truth. My mother and father were the rulers of this world. I just need to find out how to fix it all. And... I think I can bring back Knuckles, and Tails."

The room went silent all of a sudden. Shadow and Silver looked at one another as I just hoped they would listen. I wanted them to understand and trust me. Of course they didn't know what was going on. But I needed them to believe me, to put their trust into me. Shadow sighed and looked up at me.

Shadow: "Sonic, I want to believe you, but they are gone. No one can bring back the dead. I don't even think your parents could do this."

Silver stared at the ground, holding onto his arm. Trying to remember when he was younger about this place. His eyes widened as they started to glow.

Silver: "No... No he can do it!"

Shadow: "... What?"

I smiled as I looked at Silver. The hope and purity in his eyes. I could feel his trust being granted to me. Silver smiled as we made eye contact.

Silver: "His mom and dad... if this is really the truth. His mom was the miracle and his dad was known as the healer. His mom could revive the dead, no matter how long they had been gone. And his father, he could heal and fix the world around him. The way his touch could fix a plant from withering... how he could just focus on the world around him. If he says who he truly is... he could fix all of this."

Shadow went quiet as he looked at me. I could feel him getting desperate in this situation. Shadow sighed and gave me a nod.

Shadow: "What do we need to do?"

Now that was a hard question to answer. I never knew this would even happen in a thousand life times. I look back at other transcriptions. Hearing about different writing, books that were hidden. But then... there was one book that was mentioned continuously. The name of it was, 'The weeping beggars.' I looked back at them, taking a deep breath to explain everything.

Sonic: "We need to find a book, and it may be the wrong one. But we need to try and find 'The weeping beggars'. Its a book that seems to have the answers to everyone's needs. I think it can help us to go further with what we are going for."

Shadow and Silver nodded to one another as they looked back at me.

Silver: "Where do you think this book is?"

Sonic: "Well, it talks about how it travels between places all the time. The last place it was recorded was in this castle. So it may be in the royal library."

They started walking out, as I followed close behind. Having to bend down when walking due to the tight enclosure. Finally getting out as the bookshelf closed behind us. We need to get this book, I need to fix all these wrongs. I want this place to start anew... as well as maybe get my friends back.

------------------------------------------------------

Shadow POV:

I was worried about this, what if this was another thing that ruins Sonic? Hopefully not, I don't want him to be taken away from me a third time. I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I can't help but think about what may happen to him if he pushes himself again. I want this all to be fixed, especially my own mistake of killing his brother. I don't quite understand why he even still loves me after I did such a terrible thing. Maybe I'm just overthinking this. I hope this doesn't end back like earlier. I lost it, and I don't think I can handle it one more time. I feel bad for hurting Silver. Now looking at it, I could tell he meant no harm from it. I should have just listened to him. But I was too enraged to think straight. I was heavily in the wrong, and I stand by it completely.

We started walking through the library, taking hours just looking at dusty books. Struggling to find this one book. Nothing was in order, nothing was in its right place. Making it so much more difficult to find it. I groaned and decided to leave the library out of frustration. Feeling worried and on edge the entire time. I could feel my muscles all tense and in agony from not being able to relax. I went past a room as it caught my attention. The doors were huge, yet opened like it was nothing. I looked into the room, advancing into it. Seeing a desk and a chair. Some other bookshelves that were almost barren. I then noticed one big book resting on the desk. I walked up to it and turned it around. Spiderwebs connected to it... showing it hadn't moved from this spot in ages. I blow on it to get the dust off, wiping the rest of it until I see it in bold golden print on the cover. The letters spelled out 'The Weeping Beggars'. I felt my heart skip a beat as I opened the book. Once I opened it, the pages glowed brightly. Even for how old it was, the pages were still in such good tact. I was stuck looking at it, completely mesmerized by its beauty. Seeing the cursive lettering in Sonic and Silver's native alien language. He rubbed his paw on the print, feeling the divots they made in the page. I wanted to pick it up and bring it to them. But then something made me just want to keep it for myself. I backed up from it, wondering why I wanted to be such a selfish being. I was better than this. Was this normal for when people were in the presence of the book? Even when further away from it, I just wanted to grab it and run away. I started to walk back up to it, not even a thought going through my head. I lay my paw back on it as I started getting a huge migraine. Closing my eyes tightly as I was stuck in head space. Turning around as I see Ophelian fighting something in my own mind. Seeing a pure white figure that was the size of Ophelian. I could feel my stomach churn as I yelled.

Shadow: "Hey! What the hell is going on?!"

Ophelian turned to look at me until he got soccer punched in the face. Knocking him down to the ground. The figure pushed its foot down on Ophelian's head, keeping him pinned. My subconscious growling and yelling.

Ophelian: "I don't know! This thing just appeared out of nowhere! Get off of me!"

Ophelian pushed the figure off of him as he wheezed and limped over to me. I don't know what is going on. But this thing was intruding my mind. Was this something to do with the book, greed...? No... Silver talked about my tribe being the reason their kind was almost brought to extinction. Was this the book protecting itself... or was this the book trying to take over me? I can't let it happen. Whatever is happening, I will get this book to Sonic and Silver. One way or another. Ophelian growled as the figure just stared at us.

Ophelian: "What the hell do you want from us?!"

The figure was completely still, as well as silent. But then it spoke, no mouth showing... only the sound of a deep echo that spread through my mind.

Figure: "... You're very powerful. And you seem to be weak enough to let me inside. I have been waiting to use someone for a long while."

I kept quiet as I was just too stunned to speak. Feeling lost and heavy headed.

Figure: "You must not be caught up on the history of this book. This book is called 'The Weeping Beggars' for a reason. I take a host to use that spreads my magic throughout the land, but... with that host, they will slowly lose their mind. Too much knowledge, too much power. It's scary... and you seemed to be filled with it. And with you already having a subconscious, I need him... removed... permanently."

Ophelian was starting to feel fear. He couldn't fight off the figure the first time, and he was injured. I on the other hand... I could fight, but I am always so scared to show my true power. I did with Silver, and I almost killed him. But I can't have this thing attached to me like some leach. I gave Ophelian the nod of approval as he took over the body and I was ready to fight this figure. Not ready to give up just yet.

-----------------------------------------------------------

No POV:

Sonic and Silver started trying to find Shadow since he had been gone for quite some time. Sonic then heard a loud yell coming from upstairs. Both rushed to Shadow. Sonic flapped his wings as he landed right in front of the room. Silver got up the stairs as they were stuck with a scary scene playing out in front of them. Some of Shadow's body was cracking, almost like a porcelain doll... or like his body was rotting. Shadow was gripping at his head and yelling. He was acting feral and barely able to control himself. Silver looked at the glowing book barely hovering on the desk. He realized what was going on.

Silver: "That book... it's cursed! We need to get Shadow out of the room! With him in there he is stuck under the book's trance."

Sonic watched as Shadow started to calm down, but his breathing was ragged. Sound feral as a low growl erupted from Shadow's neck. Shadow slowly turned his head around him as his eyes were slowly turning white. Sonic could feel his body shivering as he watched Shadow slowly turn into a shell of his former self, almost like a zombie. Sonic walked into the room, feeling the uneasy and demonic energy circling around him. Silver stayed outside of the room, knowing he wasn't in shape to fight Shadow.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sonic POV:

Sonic: "... Shadow, hey... it's me. It's me, Sonic..."

Shadow growled and finally faced me as his body seemed to morph. Hearing bones pop out of place as his body tries to hold itself together. It sounded painful, almost agonizing to watch as well as listen to. I stared at Shadow as he slowly got closer. I then hear that feminine voice repeat in my head again from earlier.

(F) Voice: "It will be okay, just go up to him. Get him pinned, if he hurts you... don't get mad. Just go for it."

I acknowledged the voice and slowly got closer and closer to Shadow. His eyes are darting, not able to hold eye contact. I slowly moved my paw up in the air mid-way. He choked and screeched. It hurt my ears as I flinched to the loud deafening sound. I could barely hear anything due to him being so loud. it was making me dizzy while trying to get closer to him. I kept my paw up, feeling my paw tingle... feeling like I was touching static. The more I got near him, the more he seemed to freak out.

Sonic: "... Shadow, please... everything is okay."

Silver was watching both of us from outside of the room. I felt sick to my stomach watching Shadow seeming to go haywire. I finally got close enough and pushed my paw onto his forehead. Getting him down onto the ground as he screeched and kicked. It was painful... the way my ears rang from the loud noise. I kept him pinned down, my wings holding his wrists down as my paw stayed up on his forehead.

(F) Voice: "Let your mind go, focus only on him. Get inside his head, fight off what he can't."

I took a deep breath, clearing my mind of all thoughts. I closed my eyes as I focused on him, even the ear tearing noises. I needed to help him, I need to fix this. I felt my body feel static, how I felt sick to my stomach and grit my teeth. Then... out of the blue... my body collapsed and Shadow's body stopped moving. Silver stared at the both of us as he realized what was going on. Closing the doors behind him as he sits there with my body and Shadow's keeping watch over what might take place.

---------------------------------------------------------

(In Shadow's head)

Sonic POV:

I felt out of breath as I saw nothing but darkness until I turned around. I saw Ophelian, which was a darkened version of Shadow groaning on the groan and coughing up lime green blood. While Shadow was being choked in the air by the pure white figure. Shadow gasped as I felt all my instincts kick into gear. I jolted over to where Shadow was as I socked the white figure in the back of the head. Shadow and the figure dropped to the ground. I grabbed Shadow and brought him over to Ophelian. Making sure the two stayed still as I turned around to see the white figure. It's eyes were nothing but abyss and rage. I stared at him as I could hear a growl echo in the emptiness of Shadow's mind. I stayed in front of Shadow and Ophelian, keeping them safe from any more danger.

Figure: "... You... wait..."

The figure studied me, seeing my body like it was a Greek god. I spread my wings out to seem a bit bigger. It's sight then was drawn to the gems on my head and halo.

Figure: "... You're the prophesy foretold us about. Well then, I guess I have a new target to go after..."

I growled as I could feel my body get tense. I never let my guard down as the figure took a few steps closer towards us.

Sonic: "Don't you even try..."

The figure froze for a moment. Trying to study my behavior it seemed like. The figure chuckled, his voice echoing every time he spoke.

-----------------------------------------------------

(TRIGGER WARNING)

Figure: "You are just as feisty as your father. You know... he was one of my great victims. You resemble him a lot. How you're stubborn to give them up... how you seem to put your life on the line continuously. Man, he was such a great toy to control. He eventually lost his mind and... boom... blew his brains out in front of your lovely mother."

My stomach turned into a knot, I felt like I was going to throw up with that new information. Hearing how it talked so highly about my dad... but then it was the cause of his own demise. I kept my guard up, no matter the disgusting details. It then continued on with its gut wrenching story.

Figure: "How does it feel, ya know... to not have parents? Or well... you did, but what good did they ever do for you? Man, you even almost went as bonkers as your dad. Trying to kill yourself but then failing in the whole attempt to do so. You must have lost it... and you know what moment I'm talking about. Seeing your siblings slowly disappear from your life. The only support you ever had... it must be so... lonely."

The more it talked... the more I wanted to just lose it and lash out, but that's what it wants. To get inside my head, of course... it's slowly working, but I won't give up now. Not when my boyfriend's life is on the line here.

Sonic: "Who even are you...?"

Figure: "Oh, such a great question. I was waiting to hear you ask it. The name is Gyronix... I am known as your planet's god of deterioration. Once I get inside your head, and get what I want... what I deserve. I slowly pull your own self apart from the inside out. Just like your father. I ripped apart and picked at his stability. I watched him even in his best moments just wanting to end it. Ha! It was such a roller coaster... and damn I loved it. How when you were born, his first thought wasn't... 'Man... I'm a father to a loving daughter'. No, it was... 'I hope this disgusting thing drowns.' Oh man! That made me laugh. If only I could reenact it all. And once he realized what he thought, he was so disgusted with himself. The scenery of his wrists being like cutting boards... oh god it was so delightful."

My wings slowly drooped behind my body. I felt my eyes tear up as my fists clenched. I then heard the female voice speak to me in my own head.

(F) Voice: "... Don't listen to him. Yes, your father was a mess because of him. But your father loved you dearly. He always wanted the best for you. And-."

The voice was cut off by Gyronix speaking.

Gyronix: "That voice, you have found your subconscious. How funny, or should I say your mother?"

The silence was drowning in my head, I felt sick to my stomach as I stood there in a room filled of darkness. How he just assumed it was my mother, how he was so confident. That was what I thought until I heard the voice respond.

Mother: "Yes... It is his mother. Why say it now? Why tell him?"

Gyronix: "Oh cmon. He should I have been told from the very beginning. Such a liar for a mother. Ya know, Sonic... your mother isn't who you think she is. Want to know how she left this universe... how she isn't here anymore?"

I wanted to say no, but my curiosity was choking at my throat. I wanted to understand what was going on, what I had no idea about. I nodded my head, feeling uneasy.

Mother: "No... don't you dare tell him!"

Gyronix: "... She was a good mother, but oh man... watching her give you up to such a disgusting being. Ha! How she left and stole rope and a stool. Hehe... her body still hangs on the tree limb."

My stomach churned, and my heart seemed to drop in my chest. I didn't know what to say, what to do. My eyes teared up, feeling more weak the more I stayed in Shadow's empty yet distorted mind. Shivering as my breath caught in my throat. I wanted to say so much. Even my mothers voice went as silent as a mouse.

Sonic: "No... She..."

Gyronix: "She hung herself like the guilty woman she was. The sight of it all was thrilling to me."

I felt myself stumble. Getting a headache that throbbed at the front of my head. This was something I didn't want to come to this kind of conclusion. I didn't want to accept this as what happened. But my mother was not denying a single accusation towards her death.

Sonic: "Even if she did do that. Even if she hung herself... what makes you think I would care for her any less? She is my mother, she tried her best and that's what truly matters."

Gyronix: "You just don't want to believe you're turning out just like your mother and father. You tried so long ago. It was sad to see you fail at your attempt for freedom of this god forsaken world."

I couldn't speak anymore, I felt the tears getting heavy when sitting in my eyes.

----------------------------------------------------

Silver POV:

I watched Sonic's and Shadow's body slowly start to move. I saw their bodies twitch... I knew exactly what was happening. The curse that sits in Shadow's mind is just slowly taking over both of them. I could feel my ribs creak from how broken up they were. I was in such agony, but I needed to help them. I needed to fix this mistake I have caused. I slowly put both my paws on their shoulders. A glowing light formed around my paw and on their body. I was going to give every last bit of my energy to them. For them to win, for them to keep going. I have lived for centuries... I have lived ten times in their lifetime. It's their chance to take charge. I need to be the light now. I need to help them fight with whatever I have left.

Silver: "... I'm sorry for ever causing you guys pain. I am sorry for ruining such a good life for you guys. You have shown me there is more to life than just the bad and the good. I need to let myself go, to give you guys a better chance at life than I ever had. I love you guys... take care."

I pushed all the energy I had left into them. I could feel my paws burning, my breath stayed stuck in my body. My heart was racing like I had been running a marathon. I couldn't let go, not now. I grit my teeth and let myself cry as a sharp ring sound wrapped through the room. Last thing I knew... a huge shock wave blast through the room.

---------------------------------------------------

No POV:

Silver's body smacked off the big brown doors, making his ribs push forward outside of his chest. He gasped and hit the floor. His paws were burnt to a crisp. His skin was sizzling and burning from the harsh amount of energy he gave to Sonic and Shadow. His back turned towards them as he laid there... his breathing was faint, barely even a fraction of his present self. His eyes were half-lidded. A puddle of blood forming around his body as it dripped from his nose, mouth, and his burnt arms. His body slowly becoming lifeless as he takes his last longing breath. His eyes stuck open while lying there on the old wooden blood stained flooring.

--------------------------------------------------

Sonic POV:

I felt a wash of energy hit through my body. A tight pain shot through my chest. I realized what had just happened. My worry now all about Silver. I was so scattered, I felt so all over the place. Shadow then looked up at me as he woke up. He felt the power shoot through his body as well. Shadow got up and groaned. I couldn't think clearly until Shadow held my paw in his own. Looking down at him... he gave me a nod of approval. Taking a deep breath and then looking at Gyronix. I take a few steps forward and sigh.

Sonic: "You may think you're strong, but you do not how power over me. I am my own person. My father and mother did things I could not control. It was their own decisions. But it is in my own decision to not follow in their footsteps. You are not worth my time, my brain power, let alone to control my body. You don't even deserve to breathe the same air I do."

Once I said that, I launched after Gyronix. Not taking my eyes off of him. I went to go knock him down with my fist as he dodged and kicked my back. I stumbled a bit and groaned, feeling my body ache slightly. I then grit my teeth and turn around abruptly. Using my tail and swinging it into him. Knocking him down off his feet. I grunted once he smacked off the ground. I then sat on his chest and gripped at each side of his head. I wouldn't let go as I yelled.

Sonic: "Fuck you!"

Snapping his neck. You could hear the bones snap and echo in Shadow's empty head. Once I did that I woke up back in the room I passed out in. Gasping for air and sitting up quickly, as I then watch Shadow slowly wake. I was happy to see him okay. That's when my mind shot to Silver. I looked in front of me to see Silver's lip body lying in a puddle of blood. I jolted up and ran over to him. Kneeling down next to him, once I did... I saw his claws were completely mangled by being burnt and scorched. I felt sick to my stomach. The smell of rotting flesh pushed up my nose as I gagged. I started to cry as I moved him to lie on his back. Shadow stood next to me and got on his knees. He leaned over, using his fingers to close Silver's eyes all the way. Letting him rest completely. I picked him up carefully, trying to stay stoic and not cry.

We walked outside of the castle and looked at the ruined ground and land in front of us. Flowers and plants growing behind me with each step. I knelt down and laid Silver down on the ground as Shadow dug up the dirt with his claws. Once it was a dug deep enough, I laid Silver in the grave. I felt my body grow numb having to bury yet another friend... a third one. I sigh and push the dirt back over his body. I placed my paw on the dirt I threw over Silver's body as a small sapling grew on top of him... the first of many trees to sprout and shine bright with years to come. Shadow and I stood there for a moment, staring at the sapling I had grown on top of Silver. Taking a deep breath I look at Shadow with an unpleasing expression.

Sonic: "... Let's go and fix this."
