AUTHOR'S POV

The sun dipped low on the horizon, casting an orangey hue across the campus grounds as Jimin spotted Taehyung who was about to leave. With a quick call, he halted Taehyung's steps, and the taller man turned to face Jimin. A warm smile adorned Jimin's face as he greeted his friend, but Taehyung's response was a tight smile, an unspoken weight hanging between them.

"Where's Jungkook?" Taehyung inquired, his voice carrying a subtle edge. Jimin explained that Jungkook was occupied with other commitments and then extended an invitation for Taehyung if he can come along with him. However, Taehyung's response was a huff, his thoughts weaving.

Of course, I was only the second choice, always in the shadows when Jungkook was unavailable.

Undeterred, Jimin pouted, voiced what his heart truly felt, "Besides, I miss you, Taetae."

Taehyung sighed, a silent acknowledgment of the complicated emotions between them, and nodded. A radiant smile adorned Jimin's face as he clung to Taehyung's arm, happily.

As they began their walk together, the atmosphere held a delicate tension, a blend of unspoken emotions and the nostalgia of their shared history.

Amidst the quiet stroll, Jimin's curiosity surfaced, and he delicately asked, "Tae you lose more weight than last time, I can really feel your bones now,"

Taehyung coughed and turned his head away, a response veiled in silence. Undeterred, Jimin scolded him gently, the words carrying a thread of genuine care. As they approached the campus gate, Jimin emphasized the importance of Taehyung taking better care of himself, the concern lingering in the air like a soft breeze.

"I don't wanna go home yet. Where do you want to go, TaeTae?"

A nostalgic smile crept onto Taehyung's lips as he suggested the park they used to visit when they were just kids. Jimin's face lit up with delight, and with an eager tug, he led Taehyung into the familiar grounds. The afternoon sun bathed the deserted playground, the absence of other children playing only adding to the peaceful atmosphere.

With a mischievous glint in his eye, Jimin darted towards the swings, prompting a shake of the head from Taehyung but with a fond smile on his face. Taehyung approached him, pushing the swing for Jimin, like what he used to do when they were younger, unleashing a cascade of giggles from his h friend. The playground became a canvas for their shared history, a stage for the rekindling of the camaraderie that had weathered the years.

Attempts to explore other equipment failed because they were already too big for it and it was only suitable for the size of a kid, yet the merry-go-round beckoned. Jimin took charge, spinning it wildly while clinging tightly to the handle, and together they found themselves dizzy, laughter echoing in the fading light. When fatigue finally set in, they settled on the swings, side by side, as the sky transformed into a tapestry of deep hues, unaware of the encroaching darkness.

The swing chain felt cold against Jimin's grip, swaying gently with the help of his feet as they filled the air with a comfortable silence. In the midst of this tranquil moment, Jimin's voice broke through.

"I'm sorry, Tae," he confessed, his gaze fixed on Taehyung. "We couldn't hang out much because of me. Sorry for neglecting you."

Taehyung reached out and gently ruffled Jimin's hair as he brushed off the apology.

"It's nothing, Jimin. I understand. You're in a relationship now,"

Jimin was about to apologize once more, but Taehyung hushed him, "It's really okay."
