AUTHOR'S POV
Next morning, a sense of worry crept into Jimin's thoughts when he received a message from Taehyung's mother, gently informing him that his best friend was still unwell and needed a day of rest. Concerned etched on his face, he wasted no time making his way to Taehyung's house, determined to check on his friend.
Upon arrival, Jimin's brow furrowed at the sight of Taehyung, whose fever stubbornly clung to him despite the night's passing. He changes the damp towel on Taehyung's forehead, making sure his medicine is on the nightstand close to him, so Taehyung wouldn't have a hard time getting it.
"You should get better quickly. I miss you, idiot."
Bid farewell to Aunt So-un, Jimin's mind churned with concern, leaving him no choice but to walk to school alone. Their usual car ride, a shared routine between the two inseparable friends, felt incomplete without Taehyung's presence filling the space.
The campus greeted him with the usual hustle and bustle, but Jimin treaded the familiar path in silence, a heavy heart weighing him down. As he reached their classroom, the echo of yesterday's events lingered in the air, and Jimin felt the weight of curious stares upon him. Ignoring the unspoken questions, he quietly took his seat, hannds cage his head, creating a shield from the whispers and sidelong glances that followed him.
As the minutes passed, the clandestine conversations of his classmates buzzed like a distant hum. Jimin couldn't escape the murmurings, and soon, words reached his ears that ignited a spark of shock within him. "Taehyung punched Jungkook yesterday." The revelation hung in the air, a disruptive force in the otherwise ordinary morning.
The revelation made Jimin's heart skip a beat, and he struggled to reconcile the image of his usually composed friend with the unexpected act. He remained still, contemplating the events that unfolded, he would definitely going to scold Taehyung after school.
The spacious classroom buzzed with activity, a hive of students preparing booths for the upcoming Teacher's Day celebration tomorrow. Brushes swept across canvases, laughter resonated, and the scent of paint lingered in the air. Jimin found himself cutting a material for decorations, a distraction from the tumultuous thoughts swirling in his mind.
He spotted Jungkook, moved purposefully among the students, providing guidance and direction. Jimin, lost in his own world, the memories of their altercation replaying like a haunting melody. The echoes of Jungkook's sharp words still resonated in Jimin's mind, leaving a lingering ache in his heart.
Lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice until a sudden pain shot through his finger, he accidentally nicked his finger. Startled, he winced and noticed a thin trail of blood emerging from the small cut. He stood up, clutching his poor finger, and headed towards the classroom door, intending to wash it in the restroom.
However, his escape was halted when a firm grip enclosed around his hand. Jimin turned, shock painting his features, only to be met by Jungkook's intense gaze. The school president, furrowed his brows while looking intently at his injured finger and inquired, "Jimin, what happened?"
Caught off guard, Jimin felt a surge of emotions, betrayal and pain intermingling registering what's happening. He quickly brushed Jungkook's grip away, the gesture more forceful than intended.
"None of your business."
Without a second glance, he walked away, leaving Jungkook behind, staring at his retreating form, a mixture of confusion and realization clouding his expression.
JUNGKOOK'S POV
The past few days had been a tumultuous journey within the confines of my own mind. Conflicting emotions swirled like a tempest, and I found myself grappling with the unexpected tide of feelings that seemed to surface whenever Jimin was around. Casual conversations, shared piano lessons, and even the smallest gestures, like the thoughtful gift of banana milk, had begun to unravel a thread of attraction I never thought possible.
