AUTHOR'S POV
The next morning, Jimin found that Taehyung was not by his side anymore when he woke up, probably gone home to get ready for school too. Jimin slowly descended the stairs, his footsteps heavy and his eyes still weary. The weight of the devastating news seemed to linger, casting a shadow over his once vibrant spirit.
And today was different. Today, Jimin found the strength to face the world beyond his bedroom door, so he chooses to finally attend class as he was feeling much better now, thanks to his best friend.
Despite the turmoil in his heart, Jimin couldn't bring himself to suppress the admiration he felt for Jungkook. He already held a special place in Jimin's heart. Yet, each passing day, the weight of his broken heart grew heavier.
Nonetheless, he refused to let go of the hope that one day Jungkook would notice the love and care that he poured into. He clung to the belief that perhaps, just perhaps, there was a chance for his feelings to be seen and reciprocated.
Jimin refused to believe Minji's words. His thoughts flooded thinking maybe Minji just said that, so he could be jealous and finally stop. He decided that he will only believe that fucking rumor, if that words left from Jungkook's mouth itself. Until then, no one can stop him from loving Jungkook.
Determined to discover the truth, Jimin mustered up the courage. He knew he had to do something out of the ordinary, even if it meant being shameless.
Today as luck would have it, Jimin spotted Jungkook in the cafeteria with his friends. His heart raced with nervous anticipation, and he felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins. Gathering his courage, Jimin took a deep breath and made his way to their table.
Jungkook's friends paused their conversations and activities as they noticed Jimin's approach. Jimin's face turned a shade of pink as he bashfully extended a banana milk towards Jungkook. "U-Uh for you..."
But to Jimin's surprise, Jungkook sat there dumbfounded, unsure of how to react. He stared blankly at Jimin, unable to find the words to respond.
Jimin's heart sank, disappointment clawing at him. A mix of emotions swirled inside him - confusion, sadness, and a sliver of hope still left. In that moment, one of Jungkook's friends sensed Jimin's vulnerability. Deciding to help, he reached out and kindly accepted the banana milk, claiming that Jungkook appreciated the gesture.
Jimin's eyes lit up slightly at the small glimmer of positivity. Even though he knew it was just a cover for Jungkook's apparent rudeness, he couldn't help but feel grateful that someone else had acknowledged his sincerity.
His dazzling eye smile made its appearance, muttered a thank you softly, captivating Jungkook's friends, who couldn't help but be charmed by Jimin's genuine nature.
Although it wasn't the reaction Jimin had hoped for, he held onto the tiniest shred of optimism. And as he turned away and walked back to his seat, the pink tinge on his cheeks remained, a testament to his unwavering determination and courage.
JUNGKOOK'S POV
In the midst of the cafeteria chaos, I found myself surrounded by the laughter and antics of my friends. A whirlwind of noise and energy that I had grown accustomed to. As I sat at the table, trying to make sense of the commotion, something caught my attention. The voices around me lowered in volume, and all eyes seemed to be focused on something or someone beside me.
Curiosity got the better of me, and I turned my head to see Jimin, eyes down cast as he was fidgeting with his sweater extending his arm towards me. In his hand was a bottle of banana milk, again. His cheeks were tinged with a faint blush.
Caught off guard, I wasn't sure how to react. I hesitated for a moment, unsure whether to accept the gift or not. Sensing my internal struggle, I felt Suga hyung nudge me gently, as if silently urging me to take it. I was about to reach it but Jin hyung beat me to it. Thanking Jimin on my behalf.
I glanced up at Jimin, who's now smiling sweetly at us, his eyes briefly meeting mine before he left.
But before I could fully process the weight of that gesture, the chatter at the table resumed, and my friends immediately bombarded me with questions, "Is that Park Jimin?" Hoseok hyung ask with his head turned to me.
"Yeah."
"Damn, Jungkook-ah. He's part of the dance club and you SHOULD see him dance. That boy is really talented." He added.
Why should i?乁( •_• )ㄏ
Jin hyung chimed in while looking at Jimin's direction, "He seems really sweet too."
"He surely is, Jin hyung. One time when we were practicing nonstop, Jimin handed me a water bottle out of nowhere and we were not even that close that time."
"And he's adorable and beautiful too. Did you see that eye smile earlier?!" Jin hyung added and Namjoon hyung nods, approving at his statement. "But not as beautiful as you, darling."
Eww...
"Ugh I want to adopt him Joonie༎ຶ‿༎ຶ"
Then suddenly Jin hyung turns to me with his hand on his hip eyes digging daggers at me, "I don't know what's wrong with you Jungkook, but you better not hurt that boy or else..... I will disown you." he threatened.
What the fuck?
"Jin hyung's got a point Jungkook-ah, that boy seems genuine. Maybe, give him a chance?" Yoongi hyung suggested.
"Aishh hyung! Y'all know that I am fucking straight, right?"
"Then you won't mind if I do a move from him?" I was a bit taken aback by Yoongi hyung's question because damn, that caught me off guard,
"B-but I thought you're straight too, hyung?"
"That's what you thought." he mischievously smiled winking at me.
"Yoongi hyung, leave the two boys alone. As you can see, our Jungkookie here does not agree with your idea, right Jungkook? ~"
I rolled my eyes at what Namjoon hyung stated. The teasing and playful banter filled the air, I couldn't help but feel somewhat embarrassed and guarded. I wasn't ready to expose the depth of my emotions or reveal the impact Jimin's act had on me.
