AUTHOR'S POV
The fork in Jimin's hand clattered against the plate, a sound that reverberated through the room. Dizziness washed over him as he struggled to comprehend the magnitude of the revelation.
Jungkook, visibly shocked, he rose from his seat, "W-what do you mean, father?" The room held its breath as all eyes focused on Mr. Jeon, awaiting an explanation.
Mr. Jeon sighed, understanding the weight of their confusion. "I know what you're thinking, but no. We're brothers, but not biologically."
Relief washed over Jungkook, but Jimin remained frozen, his mind grappling with the intricacies of the newfound connection between the two families.
"I was adopted by the Parks after my parents disowned me at the age of 7, and they have a son, which is your father, Jimin," Mr. Jeon began, his gaze fixed upon Jimin.
The revelation hung in the air, a delicate thread linking their lives in ways Jimin could never have fathomed.
"Even though I was adopted, thet treat me as equal as Jihwon. Your father and I grew up close, like destined siblings despite our lack of blood ties."
"Your bloodline was powerful at its prime. Their business was broad, making some people envy their success. And when your grandpa passed away, we knew that Jihwon would inherit them. Thankfully, as we grew up, Appa taught us how to handle business, like what he did and Jihwon didn't disappoint his father, he managed the business really well."
"Your father was an intelligent man, Jimin. Most of the business owners feared him, as they all knew that, with one click of a finger, Jihwon could turn their business down. The business only grew and grew because he had many shares in other companies that benefited him."
Jimin's eyes flickered with a mixture of awe and sadness, envisioning the formidable figure that his father must have been.
"Then, one time, your father turned down someone's proposal," Mr. Jeon continued, his tone heavy as he stared at his plate intently. "The person didn't take it well and planned something that changed our lives forever."
Mr. Jeon examined Jimin's face, making sure he was okay with what he was about to say. Jimin was just slumped in his seat, fidgeting in his lap as he listened.
"Your parents' accident was planned."
"The media reported it as a car accident, but it was all planned by that person. He asked his people to plant a bomb in Jihwon's car. And on their way home, Jihwon's car suddenly exploded and, unfortunately... your mother was also there."
Jimin's breath hitched, the gravity of the revelation sinking in, he doesn't know that he was already crying as there was a tear fall down on his face.
As Mr. Jeon disclosed the tragedy, Jimin's world crumbled around him. The accident that claimed his parents' lives was not a mere accident but a meticulously planned act of cruelty. The revelation cut deep, and Jimin couldn't hold back the flood of tears that spilled from his eyes. The room fell into a heavy silence, broken only by the sound of Jimin's stifled sobs.
Jungkook immediately enveloped him in a protective embrace, offering solace as the truth unfolded.
"K-k-kookie I-I.. H-He.. How can they be this c-cruel?..." Jimin's voice wavered, his cries escaping like a torrent. Jungkook's embrace tightened, a grounding force amidst the storm of emotions.
"Shhh, I know baby, I know," Jungkook whispered, his chin resting on Jimin's head. The room resonated with the shared pain, the past bleeding into the present.
