mike walked down the sidewalk of downtown hawkins, walking next to dustin and will as lucas and max walked in front of them.

his hand was draped over her shoulder as they shared an ice cream cone.

mikes eyes rolled as he scooped some ice cream from his cup. all he wanted to do was go home and text this mystery girl he met last week.

well not met but you get the idea.

his eyes caught on the pet store across the street and he began to smile. what if she was there?

maybe she was a town across, maybe she wasn't even in hawkins.

stupid mike...

just as he was about to look down, he saw a familar girl exit the store with two paper bags, grey headphones on as she wore an oversized black top with a mini skirt.

she was beautiful...

she stopped to check her phone, sighing before putting it away.

he wanted to step across the street to catch up to her.

he wanted to ask for her name.

but as his legs robotically stepped out, his friends pulled him back.

"yo, you good?" will asked and mike blinked, nodding before looking around to catch the girl turn around the corner.

his smile dropped and so did his mood.
