"Jack, did you make a contract too?"

"Wait... You don't have an anemone!" Deuce exclaimed loudly as his eyes searched over the young beastman's head.

"So much for looking like a bad boy. You're more of a square than Loosey-Deucey over here!" Ace looked equally as surprised and you gently pushed down on his head with your palm, as if telling him to knock it off.

"Okay, what? I'm completely lost here. What are you talking about, and what are those things growing outta you?" The Savanaclaw student crossed his arms and looked at the Heartslabyul pair with a raised brow.

"We'd quite like to know too." You said firmly as the dark blonde made an attempt to pick up the fiery monster, who happened to be mumbling.

"Look, it's, uhhh-... MROW?! What now?!" As the small creature was about to be lifted, he suddenly grimaced and reached up with paws, stopping Yuu in their track.

"This dang anemone's yankin' at mah head!" Grim cried out as he squirmed, despite his body moving in a specific direction because of the pulling.

"Owww, geez! It's gonna rip my noggin off!" The Adeuce duo wasn't spared from that same fate, the ginger being the first one to hiss in pain.

"So when he wrote 'absolute obedience', this is what he meant..." The blue haired boy said through gritted teeth, causing Yuu to furrow their brows.

"Absolute obedience? Contract? What in the world did you all...?" The young prefect murmured under their breath with a sharp gaze.

"AaaAAAaaaAGH!"

All three troublemakers found themselves being pulled by their respective anemone, groaning and yelling as they began quickly moving toward the end of the hallway.

"What now? The way they were walking, it was like the anemones were pulling them in that direction." Jack looked stunned as he followed the movement of the trio with his eyes.

"I'm afraid we need to check what this is about..." Yuu sighed quietly in resignation and you nodded.

"We better go after them." You said firmly and unconsciously brought a hand behind each first year's shoulder.

"Huh? Where do I come in here? This is none of my business." The half wolf crossed his arms over his broad chest and kept his feet steadily planted on the ground.

"Oh? I suppose our alliance did stop at the Spelldrive Tournament, didn't it?" You chuckled knowingly and removed your palm from the boy's back as the dark blonde caught your drift.

"I guess he doesn't want dangerous business. It's good to play things safe." They said in a soft tone, showing you a small smile. Meanwhile, the tall beastman narrowed his eyes and scrunched up his nose.

"Fine. I'll keep you company for a little while, at least." He begrudgingly huffed and you immediately nodded with a bright expression.

"Let's get one thing straight, though- this is purely out of curiosity. I wanna see what caused this. I couldn't care less about those guys." Jack also added, grumbling defensively as his ears twitched.

"Just so we're clear on that." He underlined further, making clear it was actually the opposite.

"Thank you. We're very glad to have you with us." You smiled sweetly at the half wolf, who mumbled in embarrassment and looked away as his tail swished behind him.

While following the trio, you encountered many other students sporting the same anemones on their own heads, all being dragged by the latters toward the hall of mirrors.
