Chapter 84 - Winter holidays

It feels so dry... Am I in a desert?

The days before the winter holidays have been running low for a while, which made you wake up earlier than usual on this day, so to start preparing your luggage to go back home.

"You... are late."

Despite all students heading back to celebrate with their own families on that same day, you wouldn't say you're late.

You're not going to go through the Mirror immediately. For reasons that will be explained soon...

"A thousand apologies, Oh patient one. But I got it!"

You think you got pretty much everything. The rest will be put in a little before the travel back. But yes, you're practically almost done.

You just need to talk to Yuu and Grim once they wake up. Fortunately but also unfortunately... you know they don't have that much luggage to gather.

"Trust me, my pungent friend. You'll get what's coming to you."

You trust the young prefect to be through enough when coming down to make preparations... same couldn't be said for the small beast.

Also, given that they will come home with you for the holidays- well, it'll sure crowded this year.

"Quickly! Follow the trail!"

You'll just follow the plans and hope for the best, especially for no arguments and a peaceful break overall. That will also be specified soon enough.

"Faster!"

Then came a realization, you were so lost in thought that you didn't immediately noticed finishing to get things ready, which had happened way faster than expected.

"At last, after all my years of searching... The Cave of Wonders."

"Awk! Cave of Wonders!"

You should really stop wondering about all of those "whats", "ifs" and "buts", instead trying to relax. That's the whole point of these holidays.

The least you can do is go back to your own room and rest some more before the two Ramshackle students wake up, as well.

"Now, remember- bring me the lamp!"

Are you sure you remembered to get everything you need in sight of- Okay, really, you have to relax.

You can't deny being a bit anxious about how things may go once back home. But overthinking it will only make it worse. In any case, there's your guardian, and you're simply happy to spend more time with them again.

"Who disturbs my slumber?"

As you mindlessly walked through the corridors, you heard some shuffling inside of Yuu's bedroom, along with the usual mumbles from Grim, that you guess disturbed the dark blonde's sleep.

"Now it's a desert? What are these dreams...?" The young fellow and sat up in bed, vaguely mumbling to themselves in too much of a soft tone for you to hear.
