The way back to Scarabia's dorm structure wasn't too long, but it didn't pass in a flash either.
After all, the Leech brothers were fast in the water, but not invincible. Especially since both of them had at least two more people on each of their backs while swimming.
By the time you arrived to the point of getting out the river, everyone but the three mers were shaking all over from the cold, which had long seeped into their clothes and then skin.
You wished to cast a spell so to dry up all the students present and yourself... but you feared using any kind of magic at the moment. Point that could be proven by your hand, which had been clutching the conch shell ever since you first noticed the damage on it...
You couldn't believe it actually cracked. Especially at a crucial time such as the current one.
All that aside, you soon felt very much grateful when Azul took the initiative of drying everyone with an incantation of his own.
"Man... that was one heck of a workout!" Floyd whined, genuinely sounding tired as he slumped over your shoulders from behind you.
"I'm sorry, dear... and thank you both, truly. But we're unfortunately short on time." You exhaled somberly, although feeling slightly more relaxed now that you were no longer suffering the unbearable cold from a bit earlier.
"Very much true. No matter how powerful, a mage's magic can only be drained so much." Jade gave a soft nod of appreciation at your gratitude, then adjusting his shirt as he silently caught his breath.
"Myah! He's gonna pay for throwing us into nowhere like that!" The cat-like monster - who's fur was currently all frizzled up from having just been dryed - announced vengefully.
"Let's get to the common room from the outside route." Kalim chimed in with a determined frown, pointing in the right direction.
"We know to defeat the blot monster... let us all be careful." The dark blonde prefect added one last statement before everyone gave an unanimous sign of understanding, then following after the dark skinned sophomore.

"Bring on the food! Bring on the drinks!" Echoed a loud, twisted voice.
"Today we celebrate the deposal of the old, useless king, and the crowning of a far more deserving successor!" Mightily spoke the owner of said voice, chin high and arms spread as if welcoming what would soon be a flow of cheers.
"Ahhh, I'm on top of the world. I've got all the magic I could ever want at my fingertips." The berserker vice sighed happily, sounding incredibly pleased and relaxed.
"I couldn't agree more, Master."
"You are the most fit to be king of Scarabia, Jamil."
"Long live Master Jamil!"
The grand amount of hypnotized students responded in tones void of emotions, paired with utterly blank expressions. It was as if they were blinding reciting a script that had been given to them, and nothing more.
Now arrived in the common room, despite the large crowd of students, you were able to get a much better look at what had become of the previous vice of Scarabia.
Not only his features were vastly different, but his expression was too. Smug, confident, vain... waiting to be complimented and elevated by those who, in his opinion, stood beneath him.
