Sonic didn't listen.
Tails had given him the warning. "Don't use any electricity. The storm looks like lightning. It would be bad."
The Hedgehog had just nodded, glancing up at the dark clouds hovering above them. "Got it."
He'd promised. He told Tails he understood.
But the move was so routine. So casual. It was muscle memory. He didn't even realize what he'd done.
Well, not until his body felt like it was set on fire.
The thunder had blasted in his ears, making him unable to hear for a moment. His body was jolting and shivering as the volts ran through his very blood.
He tried screaming when he started realizing the pain. His throat was already sore. He had screamed when it hit him.
Sonic fell to the ground, his body twitching and his lungs hacking up phlegm and bile. He was alive.
He didn't know if that was better, or worse than just being dead.
