The slide

One noon I walked past the playground,
The little boys made an awful loud sound,
Two girls played with their cuddly toys,
Three others watched, as if they had no choice.

A child slushed with water and baked a sand cake,
Someone played a prank with a plasic snake,
Two siblings enjoyed the slight move of the see-saw,
A boy drank juice, through a tall red-striped straw.

And then the little girl came in sight,
Just in this moment she slid down the slide.

I watched her intensely, she giggled and smiled,
When her mother came around, she laughed, loud and wild,
Her forest green eyes, reminded me of mine,
Some carefree chuckles, shivers ran down my spine.

There had once been a time,
Where I came home, covered with grime,
But I've never been happier, than that day,
No dutys, no expectations, no attention to pay.

The older I got, the more restricted I became,
A few years ago I've been like a bird, noone could tame.

I wanted to feel it, to feel like a child once again,
For just a brief moment, for the blink of an eye,
I climbed up the slide and breathed deeply then,
Slid down really slowly, but I thought I would fly.

Everyone watched, but I didn't care,
The feeling was my childhoods heir.
