Story of a blackbird

Glorious melodies faded,
Just like the lifetime,
And so the sweetest chime,
Was what life had traded.

Glazed eyes, a shut beak,
As if time forbid it to speak,
Black feathers moving with the air,
Once alive, now a frozen statue, mere.

The plumage had been the most splendid dress to wear,
The throat had been ordinary, the talent had been rare,
Filling normal air,
With a tune for cosy flair.

You overcame the first steep dive,
Fought many obstacles in life,
To be either send to heaven or hell,
Either way, I hope you'll do well.

Sleep good until your children will sing the same tunes,
Look up or down and be proud of their reverent croons,
Now let the dark overcome your lifeless soul,
Peacefully, like your warm cover, black as coal.
