Intertwined fingers

It started so simple,
With just a greeting,
Then I fell in love with your dimple,
Daydreamed about meeting.

Your smile is contagious,
It makes me courageous,
Your voice is my craving,
It's what my heart is saving.

You took my hand,
In that unknown land,
Four feet on the same street,
One synchronized heartbeat.

We climbed up the doubts,
Sometimes we fell back down together,
But no matter the weather,
Through snow and through droughts,
You always softened my pouts.

We still wander together nowadays,
Like we started, hand in hand,
We are battling heat and sand,
Only part occasionally, but return on the same ways.

We come close to the sky,
Only to find out it's not the limit,
And I give you a peck, almost shy,
But inside I feel so vivid.

I take your hand when the stars only twinkle for you and me,
Listen to your heart in glee,
I want to remain like this for the rest of my life,
Without a problem, duty, strife.

I could bathe in your chocolate eyes all day,
That's when we take a step further on our long way.
