_______________________________________Future childhood
I sit on a swing,
My small hand wrapped around the metal string,
Just like I used to,
I enjoy the wind, the motion, the view.Memories of old days pass by,
Within the blink of an eye,
I want to hold onto them longer,
But letting the past go makes me stronger. So I enjoy the memories as they fade away,
But I know for a certain, that the best one's will stay,
Somewhere at the edge of my mind,
They will rest safe and warm and kind.I watch the daylight fade into oblivion and dawn having the upper hand,
Clouding my thoughts until they disappeare into a sheer unknown land,
And I am left alone again, trying to sort out my mind,
Filling in the gaps to leave them defined. Then I look at my phone, and your smile leaves me speechless,
Because it's so raw, so true and seamless,
And I realize I could relive a little of my childhood with you,
Because your energetic child within, was what kept pulling you through. And I wonder how it can be true,
That I found someone like you.
