Aida’s Point of View
"Ms. Archer!"
"Conference room, business meeting is waiting," shouted one of my coworkers as soon as I stepped into the office. It seemed like chaos followed me wherever I went.
"Ms. Archer, how was the OD final list? Did the CEO approve the five teams that will form the OD?" another colleague bombarded me with questions before I even had a chance to settle in.
"We need a response from the Hwejangnim, Ms. Archer. Bujangnim needs his answer ASAP," chimed in another voice, adding to the cacophony of demands.
It was like a whirlwind of chaos swirling around me, and all I could do was try to keep up. Ever since the CEO appointed me as his secretary three weeks ago, my life had become a never-ending cycle of scheduling, organizing, and problem-solving. And let's not forget about Gabrielle's hectic schedule – the man never seems to take a break!
But amidst the chaos, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. Sure, my coworkers may be a handful, but being the go-to person for all their problems made me feel like the queen of multitasking.
"Meeting started at any minute soon, Ms. Secretary," someone reminded me, snapping me out of my reverie.
"What do we do now?" another voice piped up.
"Should we cancel the one-on-one interview?" someone else suggested.
"No, we have no time for that!" I exclaimed, feeling the pressure mounting.
"Then what do we do now!?" the voices seemed to echo in unison.
Taking a deep breath, I reassured them with a smile, "Gwaenchanha naega araseo halge." (It’s alright, I'll take care of it.)
But inside, I couldn't help but wonder, who's going to save me from this madness?
---
As I entered Gabrielle's office, ready to tackle another day of chaos, I found him engrossed in his laptop, as usual.
"Gab, meeting started ages ago in the conference room," I informed him, trying to hide my frustration.
"Okay, just send the email to my secretary, and I'll check it later," he replied absentmindedly, not even bothering to look up. "Gabrielle na sa akin na, pumunta ka na don kanina pa ako binumbahan ng mga managers."
I sighed inwardly, reminding myself why he had to give up his acting career in the first place – because apparently, one business wasn't enough for him!
But despite the overwhelming workload, there was one bright spot in my day – Hero, the only sunshine of my life who seemed to be on the same wavelength as me.
Sure, he could be a bit too eager to chat sometimes, but at least he was a friendly face in the sea of chaos. But before I could dwell on it any longer, Gabrielle interrupted my thoughts, demanding my attention.
"Snap out of it."
"Bakit?"
"What exactly are you looking at?" he asked, finally acknowledging my presence.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes and simply replied, "pumunta ka na conference room." he raised an eyebrow, clearly confused.
"I saw you. Smiling like an idiot."
Ignoring his question, I handed him his meal and his coat, silently cursing myself for being too kind-hearted to say no to his constant demands.
"By the way, I need your approval about the logo and the list of the new members of the OD Project," I reminded him, trying to steer the conversation back to business.
