It was veronica's first day in school, and so far, everything has been perfect. Well, that was until she came across Austin in the hallway.
Veronica decided to approach him since he was the only familiar face amongst all the other students,
she woke up today and could'nt find grace nor Lilly in the dormitory, she found it a bit strange considering the fact that they were all together when the boys left yesterday, she so badly wanted to question them on why boys were allowed into the girls dorm, but she did'nt get a chance to do so.
Veronica was a bit lost considering how huge the school was, and she so badly wanted to familiarise herself with the environment so she decided to approach Austin to ask for diresctions but she should have known that this was'nt some fantasy novel where the cool bad boy happens to be intrested in discussing with the introverted girl.
except she was a little social, so she gathered her courage and decided to walk towards where Austin stood with two other guys who had their bags flung over their shoulders.
"Hey Austin." she said in a meek voice and they suddenly halted their discussion and looked at her, she once again found it weird that whenever she spoke they became attentive towards her, really attentive, she was once again drawn to his ocean blue eyes.
"I was just wondering if you could show me around. I'm kind of lost." she said but was surprised when he stepped towards her and bent to her height. He came impossibly close to her, which made her hold her breath.
"w...what are you doing?" she said in a shaken tone, she could sense people's curious stare on them, which made her nervous as she didn't like being put in the spotlight, she was never really the type who enjoyed all the attention, which is why she would have appreciated if Austin gave her some space but nope, he did'nt, instead he came impossibly closer and whispered in her ear
"What makes you think i would help you with that prescelto?" he said in that deep and soothing voice of his, and she wondered if the boys voice could be so deep yet so soothing.
"And one more thing prescelto, never talk to strangers, even if they're students like you, especially not in drexel academy, and most especially not me" he said in a warning tone, at that point Veronica knew that she was to stay away from Austin and she found it scary that whenever she looked into his ocean blue eyes, she could'nt look away, instead she became more drawn towards him.
Austin finally withdrew back and gave her some distance. He turned around and walked away just like that, veronica released a breath she did'nt know she was holding.
The guy who stood towards Austin's left approached her while the other boy went after Austin.
"Hey, I'm sorry about that, Austin could be a jerk sometimes." He said it casually like he knew her, and they were long-term friends.
She liked how approaching he looked and friendly, he reminded her of Enoch.
"The name's Elijah." He said while extending his hands towards her for a handshake.
Veronica accepted his greeting and found it weird that he still held on to her even when she tried to retreat it. His friendly expression was suddenly gone, and his breathing became ragged.
"Veronica." She introduced her name, but he abruptly let go of her hands and retreated in his steps.
"Yeah, it was nice meeting you, Veronica. i-i have to go." he turned and walked away
well, that was weird
she thought
"i guess i'll have to find my way, on my own," and with that, she walked off.
