Chapter Five

2030...

[Veronica's pov]

I always knew that parties were wild. The books I read taught me that since I never attended one before.

We arrived at a building close to the boy's dormitory a few minutes ago, and so far, Grace is nowhere to be found, although she practically dragged me here.
Lilly grabbed my arm as we pushed through sweaty and disgusting party freaks. She led me to the backyard where they were'nt alot of people, just a few faces I recognised. While others were alien faces to me.

They all sat on curved benches with bottles of vodka and some snacks, they seemed to be occupied with games and from the looks of things, they were enjoying eachothers company.

From the people seated, I was able to recognise Grace, Enoch, elijah, Austin, and the other boy who was walking with Austin and elijah.

"Come on." Lilly said in a soft tone as she dragged me towards where Austin sat, it was no suprise that she sat right beside him while I sat to her left.

"Are we complete now?" The guy who was together with austin and elijah the other day proceeded to ask in an eager tone of voice.

"Yes, Milo, we can proceed now." Grace said sounding annoyed, It seemed like Milo was getting under skin.

"You sure she should be here?" Milo asked while shamelessly pointing a finger towards my direction

Like hello! I'm right here.

"Yes I am, Milo." Grace said through her gritted teeths.

"If you say so." Milo replied while shrugging his shoulders

There was a peaceful silence surrounding us. It was like we all decided to gather our thoughts for a while.

After an extended period of time, Grace broke the silence as she started by saying

"Everyone here knows the rules, except for you, Veronica. I'll start off by introducing my friends to you, so you already met Enoch, lilly, and Austin. "

I nodded my head for her as an indication to continue.

"Well, that's elijah." She said while nodding her head towards elijah's direction.

"Milo and Mandy, here are siblings." She indicated towards Milo and a brunette who had similar features to him.

"And we have Greg, Max, and Rose." She said as my eyes drifted towards Rose's direction and I couldn't help but secretly admire how Rose's crimson red hair cascaded down her shoulders, she had an amazing figure and this cute look on her face that would make you naturally fall in love with her.

I shifted my attention towards Max, who looked huge and athletic with bold features, which could make girls drop at his feet.

Then there was Greg who looked simple, I liked him, nothing too extraordinary, his looks were stylish yet simple and he had this friendly aura which one could easily sense due to the smile plastered over his face.

But even after all this. Something felt extremely off, and I couldn't shake this feeling off.

What's wrong with me? I thought as I quickly shaked the eerie feeling off and focused on Rose, who was speaking.

"So this'll be like every other day we play games, we play truth or dare and..." Rose was cut off by Grace

"How about we add something new to our games?, I've been having this great idea lately and it seemed really cool, also I can't seem to shake it off, almost as if I'm being forced to think about it."
