(Veronica's pov)

2030...

Loud music blared across the room, bouncing against the walls. Everyone seemed to be so lost in their self, and they were either dancing or drinking.

I struggled to get across the dance floor as I was constantly being pushed up against sweaty bodies.

My eyes accessed the room, looking for any little trace of Austin or the others, but no one seemed to be in sight.

It was the middle of the evening when Mandy suggested that we take a break from all the chaos and stress and just let loose.

Not many of us agreed, but we decided to be considerate of the fact that she lost her brother and maybe she wanted to forget the ache, so that's how we found ourselves coming to a club which was a few minutes drive away from school campus.

Not the best decision if you ask me.

Some where in between letting loose and being free, I lost sight of my friends, hence making me feel so uncomfortable and out of place.

I finally managed to get to a less crowded area and decided to take a rest before taking up the quest of finding my friends yet again.

But that was cut shut as I felt a hand slowly glide down my waist and move further towards my lower part.

I turned around sharply and swayed the filthy arms, which dared to grab me.

"Come on, sweetheart, don't play hard to get." A rough and ugly voice said near my ears.

"Please get your hands away from my body and move away from me." I said, not bothering to mask the irritation which coated my words

A scoff escaped the man's lips and I could barely make out his face due to the dim lighting inside the club but from what I noticed, he seemed to be in his late twenties or early thirties.

"You're like those girls who don't give in easily, huh?" He said as a sneaky smirk appeared on his face.

I ignored his statement and decided that it would be better if i left his vicinity and avoided him.

But he didn't get the message as he reached out to forcefully grab my arm when I made my move to leave.

"Come on, I know you want this too, just name your price." He said, and that was the last thread of patient I had.

"Get off me!" I said loudly, but of course no one could give a damn, maybe because they couldn't heat us over the music or they just didn't care.

The man didn't let go of me as he tried to reach towards my chest, and the next thing I knew was my fist flying towards his jaw-HARD.

I could've sworn I heard a loud crack as he held his face in pain.

I was in so much shock at what i did that I didn't even notice the attention we started receiving from on lookers.

So, NOW they look?.

"You fucking bitch!" He screamed as he moved to attack me but for some reason my reflexes kicked in and I found myself dodging his attack and in return landing one to his back, again-HARD, cause this time I heard two loud CRACKS.

Did I?.

Did I just do that?.
I was too stunned that my body was suddenly frozen in place.

The man's body suddenly looked disfigured as he kept whimpering like a girl and that was when I noticed that the music has stopped and all pair of eyes was on us.

"Vee!" I heard Mandy shout across the room.

Flustered, i made my way towards her.

Once i was within an arms length, she pulled me into a tight embrace, which instantly made me feel safe.

"Are you okay?" She asked, her concern for me evident on her face.

"I'm fine." I said, still flustered from the recent happenings.

"Come on, let's go meet the others. They're at the backyard waiting for us." She said, and I couldn't help but notice how nervous she sounded as she reached out for my arms and pulled me away from all the murmuring and whispers.

"Is Austin there?" I asked, wanting to make sure of his presence.

Her grip on me tightened as I voiced my question.

"Don't worry about Austin."

She replied in a low tone of voice.

After taking a few steps and turns into the dark night.

We arrived in what seemed to be a dead end.

The place was suddenly so quite that I was conscious of the tiniest of movement I felt.

"Mandy..." I started off in a wary tone as I turned around to access our surroundings, we've somehow ended up far from the party, and there was no one in sight.

Guilt flashed across mandy's feature, and I instantly became alert.

Could Austin be wrong?.
Could it be that Mandy was in charge of the game and not rose?.

A dark chuckle sounded from behind, and before I could urge my body to run.

A hard object that felt like metal was hit on my head.

The pain passed through me in a sickening way, and I felt blood slowly trickle down my forehead, my vision blurred as my legs gave up on me and my body fell-HARD to the cold, dirty floor.

The last thing I heard was clanking of heels before I saw Rose and Mandy looking down at me.

Mandy...

How could she?.
