(Third person's pov)

Bethy layed on the cold grass beside Damien.

"Come here." Damien said as he pulled her close to his chest.

"Tell me about yourself." He whispered gently as he caressed her hair.

"Promise me you won't hate me." She whispered lowly as the gently breeze of the night caressed her smooth, delicate skin

"I could never hate you." Damien said while pecking her forehead.

"It all started a month ago. My mother and father were both so happy together. They ruled our little homeland in peace with my brother by their side, and then there was me."

She took a deep breath in while trying to search for the courage she desperately needed to tell her story.

"My aunt, isabella, wanted her daughter camilla to get married to my brother. At first, my parents were in support of the idea, and my brother klaus wasn't against the marriage arrangements either"

She released a low breath, as she cluthed Damiens clothes

"Klaus and camilla started seeing each other more often and eventually klaus fell in love with camilla,  he was so excited for their wedding but unfortunately,  a few days to their wedding, I caught camilla in the arms of another man, she was locking lips with someone else, the man wasn't klaus, he was one of our cousins Michelle."

"I couldn't believe what I saw, my heart completely shattered for my brother because he was already in love with camilla so much, she was all he ever talked about every day."

"I contemplated telling him but I couldn't bring myself to do so, so instead I told my parents what I saw, at first they were shocked that camilla would disrespect our family to such extent, and throw away our honour, they were furious but I somehow managed to calm them down."

"After dinner that night, my father brought it up, he told klaus all that I revealed to them, but klaus was in a state of denial at first,  he could'nt believe camilla could do such a thing, so he accused me of lying, said that I was just jealous, he was like that for a few days, he always ignored my presence, until he caught camilla cheating again with his own eyes, klaus was completely heartbroken and devastated that day, he broke down and shut everyone out."

"That just made my father mad and he decided to punish camilla for going to such extend to ruin his son, my parents decided to punish camilla by taking her to the town Square for her to be whipped ten times, that was a tradition in my homeland, the minute you cheat on your partner and you've been proven guilty you'll have to face the consequences of your action."

"Camilla, hearing about the news of her punishment got terrified, she was so scared of how everyone would view her after the humiliation, or how she was supposed to keep showing her face to everyone, so she decided to run, and initially no one heard about her whereabouts, until a few days later, her body was found near a river, she looked skinny and unhealthy,  and it was predicted that she died of starvation. "

"Aunt isabella was so furious, she blamed me of being the cause of her daughter's death, and promised that I would regret my action, at that time, no one knew that aunt isabella was a very powerful witch, because she never revealed it to anyone. "

"She sent a very strong and powerful demon that destroyed life's, killed families and toyed with everyone, the demon possessed many people and made us play horrid games, it started of as a harmless game of truth or dare but everyone eventually died, we lost klaus when he was dared to stab my mother in the chest, he was given 15 minutes and he refused to do so, as a result he ended up stabbing himself. "

"That is what happens when you don't do the dare, you end up dead, and everyone in the kingdom kept dying slowly as there was no way to stop the game."

"My father was the next victim as he was dared to burn me down to ashes, but he refused. Before, he died told me and my mother to run and leave our homeland."

Bethy was drenched in her own tears at his point as she kept reminiscing of the horrible ways her people died.

"Shhh, it's okay, you don't have to continue. " Damien said as he rocked her in his arms.

He didn't want her to keep hurting herself with the memories of the past.

"I want to." Bethy said as Damien replied with an encouraging nod.

"My mom refused to leave her people alone, so she contacted one of her close friend who also happened to be a strong wizard, he said that the demon who controlled the game was possing as a human amongst us, he said that the only way to defeat it was through a fire sacrifice,  but we would have to find the demon within us first so that we would burn it to ashes."

"My mom and I tried for days to find who the demon was but we couldn't detect who it was, the game got to my mother and this time around she was dared to murder a child, her time was running out and she refused to do it, she was going to die too, we both knew it but before she died, She told me to run away, and gave me a piece of paper that contained the words that was to be said in the ritual."

'You have to stop this madness, bethy.' She said, and with that, she passed away.

"I kept running from kingdom to kingdom, and that was how you were able to find me in the forest the other night." Bethy said.

"I wish I was there back then, I wish I could have held you through it all." Damien whispered lowly.

"All that matters is that you're here now, with me." Bethy said in a hoarse voice while a smile graced Damien face.

"You're right. That's all that matters." Damien replied
