Chapter 22

"Are you okay? Namjoon told me what happened. Why didn't you call me?" Taehyung asked Jin as soon as the latter picked up the video call from his tablet.

Taehyung saw Jin's eyes and they are still swollen, probably from crying. Namjoon told him that Jimin visited him but that's it. He doesn't really know what they've talked about.

"Baby... please talk to me." Taehyung said when he got a silent treatment from Jin.

Jin cried again instead of answering Taehyung.

"I'm sorry I was not there. I promise to go home right after the first seminar." Taehyung said, seeing his fiancée crying.

"N-no. Don't d-do that. Y-you n-need to c-complete t-the s-seminars." Jin said still crying and hiccuping.

"Babe, tell me what really happened. I don't like seeing you like this, especially that I am away. I can't even hug you." He said, with worry filling his tone.

"Jimin... he told me a lot of things. He said he wanted me to suffer same as how he is suffering right now. It hurts that he treats me like that. It hurts that my own brother wanted me to hurt." Jin said while thinking about everything that Jimin said.

"Do you need us to move to a different apartment so that he won't visit you there anymore? We can do that. I can talk to Namjoon."

"No. Namjoon's already alone here eversince Yoongi transferred to Daegu. We can stay with him here. I can advise the security team to not let Jimin enter the building without our permission. I am sorry I worry you."

"I'll always think about you even when I am here." Taehyung said, still worried about Jin's relationship with his brother.

"Tae, did you get the chance to talk to Jungkook?"

"I---I d-did. B-but Jin, he did not give me a chance to talk. He just said he has a boyfriend now and left."

"He does? T-that's good for him." Jin said remembering what Jimin said about taking care of Jungkook. It will be better if someone else takes care of him, just not Jimin, he thought.

"Babe, I still have the ring you asked me to give to him."

"You can keep it or throw it away. It doesn't matter to me now. Tae, I want to ask you something."

"Yes, baby? Anything."

"D---did Jungkook a-asked y-your help to r---reach out to me?"

Taehyung sighed. "He did. I'm sorry I did not tell you. But that was when you told me that you are trying to move on from him. I did not want to break my promise to you."

Jin remembered that time he said that to Taehyung. He is right, he did tell him that.

"I'm sorry I did not tell you. That time I just really wanted you to be happy with your decision and I did not want you to have any setbacks."

"I understand, Tae. You are right, and I think you made the right decision about it."

"Are you mad or perhaps sad about it?" Taehyung asked, fearing he will lose Jin because of that.

"Tae, I think our relationship is better than that now. You are honest with me and I am with you. I don't regret saying yes to you because you gave me new chance for love. I can't get mad at you for something I have requested you to do. Please do not think about that and don't you ever think that I will leave you for that. I just wanted to confirm if Jimin is saying the truth. He lied many times to different people and it's hard for me to trust his words." Jin said breathing a lungful of air.

"Baby, whatever your brother is going through right now, it must be a lot and I think if he is hurting you, it's just out of pain, too. Please don't think too much about him nor of what he was saying. Do not get affected and just focus on your present." Taehyung said smiling at Jin. He is happy to hear that Jin is not mad at him and their relationship had grown a lot even in just few months.

He proposed to Jin on their 5th month and even though Taehyung was just testing the water, he got surprised when Jin agreed to marry him.

He announced their engagement to Jin's parents and to the Jeons, being Taehyung's closest relatives, just last week before Taehyung started his seminar in Singapore. He doesn't want to meet Jungkook and not tell him the information. The latter was already devastated when he learned about their relationship.

What Taehyung did not tell Jin is that Jungkook kneeled in front of him and begged him multiple times to not court Jin as he will be back with a better version of himself. He admitted to Taehyung his feelings for Jin before he left for Singapore. He might be selfish but he really wanted to be someone who deserves Jin. He just knows that he doesn't deserve Jin at the moment, especially with what he did with his brother.

What Taehyung did not tell Jin is that he agreed to Jungkook, but he did not keep that promise. His love for Jin is more than the promise he made to his cousin.

Jungkook's anger at him is understood but he doesn't regret breaking his promise.

Taehyung loves Jin and he will do his best to prove that. He deserves Jin's love and attention more than Jungkook. He will be his first and last boyfriend and he made that promise eversince he met him. He already imagined him as his husband, and he'll make that imagination come true.

"I want to rest now. My eyes are tired." Jin said to Taehyung.

"Okay, baby. Go rest and I'll talk to you tomorrow." Taehyung said. "I love you."

"I love you, too, Taetae."

The call ended and Taehyung thought that this should be the last time his baby will be hurt like that. He knows they'll have better days soon. What they have is ideal, and he doesn't have any plans of giving it up. Whatever the consequences are, he will fight for his love with Seokjin.
