Chapter 24

"Welcome back, Dr. Kim!" Namjoon said as soon as Taehyung entered their apartment with his luggages and backpack followed by Jin taking another luggage.

Namjoon took the luggage that was being rolled by Seokjin and helped Taehyung with his other baggages.

Taehyung was surprised to see the apartment fully decorated and with food.

"Wow! Did you guys prepare this?" Taehyung asked looking at the decoration and the food.

"Of course it's not me." Namjoon said coming out from Taehyung's room.

Taehyung smiled and looked at Jin. He pulled him close and hugged his waist. "Thank you, jagiya."

"Someone actually helped me. It's not just me." Jin said.

"Hm?" Taehyung asked curiously.

"Surprise!" Namjoon shouted showing Yoongi and Hoseok.

Yoongi gave a bored look while Hoseok smiled wholeheartedly.

"Welcome back, Hyung!" Hoseok said.

"Yeah, welcome home." Yoongi said smiling slightly.

"Wow! You guys!" Taehyung said and hugged both of them. "Thank you for travelling all the way from Daegu." He said to them.

"Let's go eat. You must be tired." Jin announced and everyone happily obeyed and looked for their seat at the dining table.

"How was your training in Singapore?" Namjoon asked.

Taehyung looked at Jin first who was also expecting an answer. There was a sudden silence from him and then he smiled. "W-well, it was kind of fun." He said.

"Wow, that's it? No stories of high-technology or famous patients?" Namjoon asked.

"N-not really." Taehyung said.

Jin observed that Taehyung's kind of hesitating to answer and he's not sure why.

"Jagiya, you mentioned you had a patient who's for cranioplasty, right? How did that go?" Jin asked, remembering his conversation with Taehyung 2 months ago.

"Uhm..."

"What happened?" Yoongi asked full of interest.

"H-he's actually a d-doctor. My senior wanted me to l-look at him."

Everyone stopped eating and listened as it spikes their interest that his patient is also a doctor.

"I called Jin when I had to meet the patient. He was involved in an accident here in Seoul more than a year ago when he was about to meet someone at the Seoul Main Hospital. However, due to the accident, he was sent to Singapore by his parents for possible surgery. The patient did not agree and continue his practice as a doctor in Singapore. Only when I met him did his seniors knew about his brain trauma and they asked me to help with his surgery but the patient disagreed to include me in the surgery, probably because I'm just new and he does not trust me yet."

"How was the surgery?" Jin asked because he was no longer informed by Taehyung about what happened next.

"T-the surgery was not successful."

Everyone gasped.

"Why? What happened?" Hoseok asked.

"Turned out, it is more than a trauma in his brain." He explained and he was left on comatose.

"Oh my god." Hoseok said.

Taehyung remained silent after it. He smiled fakely, based on Jin's observation. He is sure there is more that Taehyung did not say.

"It happens. We cannot save all patients." Namjoon said trying to lighten up the situation.

"I agree. I hope his family's now in peace with the fact about his situation." Yoongi agreed then drank his glass of wine.

"It is frustrating." Hoseok said who was suddenly sad.

Namjoon squeezed his hand and smiled at him.

"How did the family take it?" Jin asked, curious about the patient since it made Taehyung really frustrated when he called him before.

"It's hard for them. He's their only son." Taehyung said sadly, remembering the events.

"It must be really hard for them." Jin commented.

"Let's not talk about sad things. How was everyone? How was Daegu?" Taehyung said.

"Daegu is fine. Boring but fine." Yoongi answered briefly.

"Seoul is much better! I am excited to practice here instead! I will be practicing pediatric surgery in the Main hospital soon and I am looking forward to learning more here, instead." Hoseok said excitedly.

Namjoon looks at his new boyfriend happily.

"Of course, baby. Your place is also ready here, so anytime you move, we can stay in our room." He said moving closer to Hoseok.

"Ahem!" Yoongi said as he cleared his throat.

"Did I just miss a lot of things?" Taehyung asked.

"A little bit?" Jin answered. "I'll fill you in later." He whispered to Taehyung.

Taehyung nodded happily.

"By the way, Yoongi and Hoseok will stay here for the night, right?" Taehyung asked.

"They are staying here for 2 nights." Jin said smiling at Taehyung. "we all requested for a leave, maybe we go out altogether tomorrow or drink."

"I would love that, except the drinking part. I have a class on Monday and I need to submit my papers from the Singapore class next week." Taehyung answered.

"We understand. We can just go out and eat outside. It will be fun to have everyone again." Jin said.

Sadly, it's not everyone. Taehyung thought to himself.

Everyone happily continued their dinner as they all talked about some other things. However, Jin was still focused on the patient Taehyung had in Singapore. When Taehyung called him, his voice cracked and it somehow made him realize that the patient is not just a simple patient, he's not just anyone. This patient must have been someone Taehyung knew because of how Taehyung felt that time.

"You must be tired. You can rest, I'll just drink milk." Jin said to Taehyung after he showered and entered the room.

"You're not sleepy yet?" Taehyung asked.

"Not yet. I am preparing for a surgery on Tuesday and learning things about it." Jin said and was about to leave their now shared room when Taehyung backhugged him.

"I miss you. The surgery is still on Wednesday. I want to fall asleep beside you today." Taehyung said kissing his nape.

Jin smiled and turned to Taehyung.

Taehyung moved slightly so that he can hug Jin in a better position. He hugged his waist and Jin positioned his hands over his neck.

"Why is my good doctor influencing me so badly now?" Jin asked.

"Just this one night, jagiya. I just miss you so bad."

Jin kissed him quickly. "I miss you, too." He said then allowed Taehyung to pull him to bed.
